And to answer GonSmithe, my blu-ray worked totally fine on the ps3 - menu and all. Perhaps you're right with skipping through the trailers quickly, but I never really tested that out. Glad to see it's all working well.

What's better is that these screens are from a compressed 720P version. Wait for true 1080P shots to jizz your pants :P

Play.com has a special offer: buy Avatar for €22,50, get another bluray for free. I got Fargo, but there are some other good buys to go along with it, the first two Die Hard movies, The Usual Suspects, Phone Booth, and a few more I forgot about.

Erhm, am I the only one that thinks it looks a lot like they screwed with the color grading? I can appreciate the difference in detail, but it also looks like they took out all the "temperature" in lieu of a more natural color scheme.

Did anyone see Trust? It was with Clive Owen and came out in 2010. It's coming out on bluray in July, if I remember correctly, and I thought it looked good from the trailer. RT gave it a 69 which isn't to bad I guess. Any GOON opinions on the movie?

Two disc Blu-Ray and two disc DVD in one package. This dropped to $30.99 But the bad news is, Fox decided to drop the four discs idea and make the set 2 discs of flippers (Blu-Ray on one side and DVD on the other) On the plus side, DVDTown gave it a glowing review and described the extras that are included. quote:Extras: http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/49335/louie-season-1-2disc-combo-in-blu-ray-packaging/

I'm disappointed about two sided discs but my excitement to get this in my hands outweighs it. I wonder which two episodes don't have commentary though.

Beaver on Zazie Dans le Metro, not a spectacular image but that's no shock for a 1960 color film from France.

Yes, each film has two discs, I believe. If you go to an actual Best Buy store, they have a deal where if you pre-order the Trilogy box set, you get a really nice replica of the one Ring. Thinking of doing it myself.

I'm thinking of upgrading my bluray player. Any thoughts on the Denon DBP-1611UD? Or any other great players that are slightly less. I was mostly looking at that Denon or an Oppo, but I'm not 100% sure I want to spend that much money. I know in the long run it won't bother me. Right now I'm using a LG BD370 that I got a couple christmases ago. So there's lots of room for improvement.
