Lucky you, my girlfriend never commented on my...traits until AFTER we had started dating. Also your avatar has been cracking me up ever since I started watching the DP LP last week. Speaking of manliness, the weather is really nice here (and not too hot) so after work I'm headed to the gym, after which I'm making burgers for dinner

Yesterday I made up a really nice tarragon, mustard seed and tomato pasta sauce that turned out really well and today I made a Bearnaise sauce for the first time which also worked out great. Cooking is fun.

Every conversation with her further cements her as the best girl, ever. Case in point: My day was awesome today for above smug-filled sentence, and the fact that we've designated next Monday as the Silent Hill marathon day where we play through the first three games and the first half of Silent Hill 4.

I've been pretty depressed this summer due to things not going well with my work. I closed my facebook account for lack of activity about a month before my birthday, knowing full well that people would probably forget without the automatic reminders. I'd even forgotten myself that my birthday was coming up so I didn't see anything suspicious with going to a movie with my best friend and dinner later which he paid for with the excuse that he had leftover credit with both establishments that was about to expire anyways. Then the guy gives me the giant package he'd been lugging around in his car all day. A loving Wii in my favourite colour and a lineup of games, all of which I'd been eyeing for a long time but never bought due to financial troubles. Best birthday ever.

Just make sure you keep telling her how awesome she is if she'll make out with you before you're dating while you're rockin' sweatpants. You can look at my day as either awful or awesome. I've had a persistent toothache for the last 5 days or so and I finally was able to see a (new, not lovely) dentist and got a cavity taken care of. I need a lot more work done because insurance and being poor () but at least I am working towards a not painful future. And she was really nice (). Also my boyfriend made me macaroni and cheese and we watched Step Up 3 because I was half numb for like 5 hours and grumpy. I love awful dance movies. It is truly my guilty pleasure.

Two major things are happening to me right now: I'm finally starting to do something about my hair loss, have started using Regaine foam, and am excited by the possibility of actually not looking like a Belgian Monk for the first time in seven years (alopecia at 16 is not great) I've also just realised i'm about two weeks away from finishing my first grown up novel, which is an astonishing achievement for someone who has a terrible work ethic and short attention span.

I've been really sick for about a week with a flu. I had my graduation ceremony for UW on Saturday where I threw up during the wait. I've been bed ridden the last few days. I feel broke, weak and depressed because I haven't been stacking chips, working out or having fun while ill. But then a cute Shawty that I've been meeting up with a while calls me today. Despite my protests and concerns over infecting her, the girl comes over with all sorts of dirty and confidence boosting things. She bring me spicy Thai soup which is my favorite sick food. She then rides my pony like a Ginuwine music video. The best part? She's running around on her bf because I'm "addicting" and "irresistable". So yeah; I am feverish, snotty and coughing... yet still pimpin' large

I found a new way to vent my anger that doesn't involve posting on message boards or Twitter: karaoke singing. I may not be happy that the Bruins won the Stanley Cup, but at least I'm not letting it get me down. $2 a song is cheaper than therapy. (The song I sang was "Break Stuff" by Limp Bizkit)

In late January, my shower was put out of commission when the pipe began to leak heavily inside the wall. This event having been a sudden, unpredictable non-emergency (I still had a working bathtub and was able to disconnect the problem section of pipe through the wall of the walk-in closet the day after I noticed it), it took some time to save for all the supplies I'd need to complete the repair work. Once I had the wall torn out, I took the opportunity to replumb the entire bathroom in copper because the pipes were 30 year old pvc. Then I had to replace much of the drywall and use joint compound to cover the old texture and make all the walls and ceiling uniformly smooth. Skim-coat, sand, vacuum, sponge, skim-coat, repeat, etc., etc. A good friend helped me with the pipes and hanging the panels of purple wallboard, I did the taping and everything else alone. I painted three weekends ago. Last weekend I reassembled the shower stall and waited a couple days for the liquid nails poo poo to dry. Yesterday I caulked everything. Today I cleaned the place up and before bed I've been able to take my first shower at home since February! It's amazing how five months of twice-daily baths is still not enough to get me to like them. Baths totally suck rear end and now I don't have to take them anymore because I have a shower stall again.

The motion sensor in my area of the building at work is out of wack. The lights keep randomly flashing on and off. It's been starting to give me a headache and my eyes really hurt. Solution? Go down to supply, get a bunch of unassembled boxes and build a hobo roof. There's one light I can't block, but it's a hell of a lot better. Cozy, too. Plus I've got four moving boxes for when they finally fix that drat thing! E: How I wish I could take pictures at work.

Today is my birthday! So I took the day off. Good timing too, because my boss found my resignation letter on her chair this morning. So far I've hung out with my girl, treated myself to breakfast, and farted around on the Internet. Because it's Father's Day on Sunday, I will be around family this weekend. There's a kid part of me that keeps saying a birthday needs to be something amazing and noisy and probably involving pizza, but I am coming to find rest and time with good people is even nicer. Plus, I found out that my grandfather has helped us out for the future way more than I recalled, and I found a promising job lead that may ensure my kids don't work as hard as he apparently did. I came home, flopped down on the couch, and started stripping off my work clothes. I took off my suit jacket, tie, shoes, and pants, then decided I was too lazy to take off the rest since I was comfortable. Then I realized I was wearing a white collared shirt, silk boxers, and socks. I'm now sliding around my house listening to "Old Time Rock 'n' Roll"

I found out The Roots are coming to St. Louis for a show in August, despite Jimmy Fallon being a dick and making them stop touring. so god drat excited. I had tickets to see them a few years ago in Columbia, but for a reason I can't remember, I wasn't able to make it to the show. I thought I'd never get a chance to see them live after Jimmy Fallon hired them for his lame rear end talk show.

^^^ That's awesome about the raise! I hit 100 e-books sold today, and managed to publish my 4th e-book on Amazon . I've always wanted to be an author, and it feels awesome to be actively pursuing my goals instead of resigning myself to sitting in a cubicle for the next 40 years. Woot, woot! I couldn't be happier about how my foray into indie publishing is going . e: spelling and stuff.

Tibor posted:Got any links? Or an idea of what the books are about? Oh, sorry, yes! Here's my Amazon author page: http://www.amazon.com/Rebecca-Knight/e/B004XK8NNE And here's my Smashwords page (where you can get formats for all other e-readers): http://www.smashwords.com/profile/view/RebeccaKnight Legacy of the Empress is an epic fantasy novel. Here's the description: A dark magic spreads through the kingdom of Taleria, feeding off its people. The queen is corrupted, seduced by its evil promise. Princess Astrid, held prisoner in the castle by her mother for years, discovers a book of magic, and uses its power to escape. The only way to save Taleria is to free the Empress of legend who banished the same dark magic centuries before. Astrid doesn't know the first thing about being a hero, much less journeying to the Crystal Fortress where the old woman is imprisoned. She's never been outside her mother's grasp, and now the queen's spies are hot on her heels. Beautiful creatures twisted into monsters, uncertain allies, and the deadly mystery of the book she possesses are the least of Astrid's concerns. As she faces the darkness before her, she discovers that saving the land she loves may ultimately mean watching it burn. I also have some short stories featuring a fairytale assassin named Veronica Grim. Basically, fairy tale villains are real, and this lady's the only one ballsy enough to take them out. Thanks for letting me share . It was a huge thing for me to hit that 100 mark.

I spent the entire evening sitting on the decking with the cat looking out over lake geneva and the French alps (as well as the less impressive Swiss hills) and listening to music. I tend to be depressed but this was one of those few days when I managed to just look out at the world and enjoy it and realised that I am lucky in many many ways.

When talking to my therapist about my depression, he noticed some things that he thought indicated ADD and told my psych. My psych asked me some questions and then agreed. I'm now taking medicine for it, and holy crap, even though I never noticed I was focusing badly before, being able to focus on something for a long period of time is a godsend. Using this newly found ability to focus, while I was being driven home from a foot surgery today, I just looked straight ahead at the road the entire time, something I've never done before. Because I was focusing so intently on the road, I managed to stop the driver from running over a little herd of baby ducklings.
