Don't think so. I would have remembered someone so boring.

If I haven't listened to every episode of CDR I'm no more than 3 shy, and I haven't heard him before. I liked this episode well enough, I'm kind of a sucker for Andy Samberg so it would've taken him being totally lovely to throw me off, and even that probably would've been funny.

MBMBaM was in good form on the new ep too, I never wanted to destroy a horse before I started listening to them dern McElroys.

Maybe I should have phrased it that they aren't as clever as their fans think they are. I'm sure everyone's had that experience with that one person who HAS to show you this HILARIOUS video called "Dick in a Box/Jizz in My Pants" and you just sit there bored, just waiting for it to be over. Virtually everything I've heard from them fits that 'dweeby white dudes rap about sex lol' mold and I never understood the appeal.

The Crank movies are actually really great. I always thought they were pap until I heard The Greatest Movie Ever (which I don't really listen to anymore) review them favorably, and then I watched them.

The best quote was along the lines of "They make all of these horrible movies based on video games, but these movies are actually video games that you're watching in real time." or "This SHOULD be a video game." The Crank movies don't pretend that they're not outlandish, and they revel in it actually. They know what they're doing, and they do a pretty good job of it.

Lest I seem like some crazy action movie fan, I can talk at length about Bergman's catalog or the history of Japanese cinema, but the Crank movies are really good for what they set out to be. gently caress, I hope they do a third.

In related news, I got the Cranq app and started playing, and I did pretty well on the Doug Loves Cranq game. The Doug Benson Cranq comment of "He has to remain high or his heart stops." was hilarious.

I like Chris Hardwick, he always seems so genuinely happy. I don't care if he gushes over celebrities, name drops or talks about himself. At least he's not screaming, ranting or hosting a lovely show where you rush your guests so you can play a dumb game while talking about how much you smoke pot.

He even mentioned in one of the hostful episodes "If you hear someone name dropping or mentioning themselves, it's Chris Hardwick."

It's a bummer for me because I like Doug and I think the funniest bits of his material have nothing to do with weed, but he's hailed as "the stoner comic". Why can't people just smoke weed or not and get over it? It seems like most people have to be "about" weed for some reason. I smoke/eat weed, but I don't make a fetish out of it.

Same with Deathsquad and other LA podcasts. I get it you guys, you smoke weed and you have dispensaries. You don't have to talk about it at length every episode. If they were talking about coffee, liquor, or sandwiches it would be completely intolerable. Weed though, can't shut up about it and everyone's on board. It's ridiculous to the point that I don't even live in LA, but I can tell you where each individual comic buys their weed (by street address) and what their personal favorites are.

No, you're not square. When weed becomes a lifestyle, it's really pathetic and annoying, and then every who says anything negative becomes a hysterical narcotics cop out a 1930s film. If you were spending that much time talking about booze, and drinking booze, people would feel sad for you and realize you have a problem. But perma-stoners actually believe their own bullshit about weed making everything better and not having any negative effects.

Absolutely. They've been killing it ever since the focus shifted from having comedy guests like every other stupid podcast to crushing their mildly retarded roommate; so like, ever since the 3rd episode. Their poo poo is really edgy except without coming off like they're purposefully trying to do it, it's brilliant. All the episodes with Brian McCarthy are highly recommended, but especially the first one where he tells the most :gonk: story ever

Agreed. Marijuana is loving fantastic, and I'm not necessarily singling out weed, but who wants to hear that guy that won't shut up about it? It's like the cliche of the 15 year-old kid who drinks a couple of beers and won't shut up about how "Dude, I'm totally wasted!"

If there are crazy innovations in the pot world, let me know. Great! Have a funny story about something that happened while you were high? Tell it! But if you're just talking about how banana bread on Santa Monica is better than jolly ranchers from Sepulveda, or how the government is keeping you down (,man) because weed isn't legal everywhere federally in the US (for the Nth time), just can it and talk about something that's actually interesting. You're ruining my high. :)

Although not free, the Benson interruption podcast is basically this. I got the first one so far and it was great, it's like the free podcast in a lot of ways but removing the time limit and not having a Leonard Maltin game really frees things up. I like the game sometimes, but often it's much more interesting to hear them just bullshit for a while. Also for the overly sensitive there are no gig plugs that I can remember! But it costs money so that's the tradeoff, what are you gonna do~

Basically this, I love beer, I even brew my own sometimes, I love talking beer, but like, if I'm listening to a comedy podcast (especially one crunched for time) and the host randomly goes into tangents about 'so yea the other day I drank this SUPER GREAT beer and like, I was soooooo drunk!' I'd be annoyed. I feel the exact same way about weed, yes I agree it's loving awesome, but I don't need to constantly be reminded how much you like it unless this is The Weed Corner with Douggie.

They are friends, but Joe did kinda mention something when Doug was on his podcast. Not directly, but Rogan essentially said that the whole "4/20 4/20 aw yeah" culture is retarded. Doug didn't really respond, probably because he's still all about that stuff.

Not to turn this into a bashing, but I find Doug Benson to be completely unlikable. He seems like an odd control freak, and lately all he seems to do is plug gigs. And the entire premise of the whole "Interruption" show seems incredibly self-serving to me. Have a comedian do his act, and then interject with your own "funny" comments? I honestly don't get it.

Blowin' up da moon.
Doug sells more comedy show tickets than mangrates or audiobooks, it's what keeps the show going from what I can tell. The only guest I recall Doug actually getting mad at on DLM is T.J. Miller which I found quite humorous. My favorite Interruption guests are usually the ones who come to the stage with material they're working on or no material at all. The show is at its best when Doug is having a conversation with his friend on stage than straight up interrupting.

Greg Proops is always fun to listen to and I greatly enjoyed him making fun of Graham Elwood's "bad accent" joke (and Madonna) on the Comedy Film Nerds podcast this week. Plus they listed a bunch of crime movies that I want to watch now. I always look forward to Greg Proops' podcast, but it's more because I just like listening to him talk and I think he has a fascinating outlook on things.

Who Charted is still my favorite Earwolf show.
