Its similar in genre to Muse and Kent

Shazam'ing it in 4 different places gave no results :(

It says the name of the song under the youtube video on the right side, for the record. Sometimes videos that use certain songs (I think ones licensed to appear in any youtube video without fear of copyright issues) will have that.

No idea on your second question, but that's Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 in G major, BWV 1048: Allegro.

Trying to find a song I heard on the radio. The only bit I got was the very end with a whistling type noise and the last line of lyrics "You know know know" (or possibly "you know no no") from a male vocalist. Heard on a rock station that plays old and new stuff (Triple M in Melbourne, if that helps).

Looks like it's original music called the Dead Island Trailer Theme by Savalas. The composer is listed as Giles Lamb.

Never heard of Savalas before, but I found a website, and apparently they're "Scotland's largest sound-post facility with the UK's first Dolby Premier mix theatre."

Alright Im trying to find this classic rock song. Pretty sure it came out in the 70s. I dont know any of the lyrics but it has a pretty distinctive guitar melody (Maybe at the beginning of the song?). Im not to sure but I think it may have acoustic guitar as the rhythm during that guitar melody. The notes I believe are

G, Bb, D (hold)
G, Bb, Eb (hold) , Eb, D

There's a Kool Keith song called NBA and another called NBA Superstar, although I can't imagine either on the radio unless there's a pretty drastic re-edit or something.

The disruptive powers of excessive national fecundity may have played a greater part in bursting the bonds of convention than either the power of ideas or the errors of autocracy.
I've been listening to different renditions of Scarborough Fair lately, and my mind keeps getting mixed up with a different song that sounds very much like it but actually isn't. I'm pretty sure it's from a video game I've played not too long ago, I just can't figure out which. So I guess this'd be better in games but it's more of a music thing? Anyway.

I don't have any real music tools so I just jotted down the melody quickly in Garage Band, without trying to get the metre right. But the melody is about right, especially the second part. The original song, I recall, was using a more medieval/bardic range of instruments.

Annoying, isn't it!

Although I don't know for sure, I think it's fairly recent, and from a PC RPG. To limit things a bit, the CRPGs I've played are the Baldur's Gates, Neverwinter Nights 1, Dragon Age 1, The Witcher 1, Titan Quest, Torchlight. I could easily be forgetting some, but those are the big ones that I spent enough hours in playing "find that bloody quest objective" to have a song get stuck in my head.

Dammit, I know I've heard that (or something like that) before. I played NWN 1 a long time ago, and it did remind me of that after seeing you mention it. However, I first thought of Mount & Blade. Have you played that?

My request, the song used in this COD4 frag video. I normally don't listen to this kind of music, and I'm usually good at finding songs. I can't make out the lyrics, and Googling what I think I've heard hasn't found anything.

Last night I heard a song on the radio, sounded really 80's, maybe synthpop or italo disco, and I could get some of the lyrics were "Let's all boogie tonight.... now!" (yeah, pretty generic lyrics, I know... sorry).

Anyone could give me a hint about it? It wasn't a 70's disco-funk boogie thing, more like 80s.

"That’s cheating! You know the rules: once you sacrifice something here, you don’t get it back!"

Okay here's a bastard one.

Want to say nineties. It was a hit in the UK, may have been big in other places. It was one of those sort of soft R&Bish songs of the time that combined vaguely 80's discoy sounds with a more mellow beat.

The lyrics were 'wooooo wooo, woooo wooo woo-woo-woo-woo-woo woooo woooo woooo woooo' and were clearly electronically enhanced to be high-pitched. Anyone able to help?

Ah, yeah, I forgot about Oblivion. But then, that soundtrack was a lot more atmospheric, while the melody in the original song was more of a medieval/bardic instrument. And although the first motif is very similar to that youtube video, the second one isn't there at all.

Abugadu posted:

Nah, I'm not sure at all. I was mostly basing myself on the fact that the instruments from the song I'm remembering are usually tavern songs in PC RPGs, but my bad transcription doesn't really convey that.

I'll see if I can make a better version, this is driving me nuts. :spergin:
