I've had it actually rain once in my 90 hours played so far, but usually it's just thunder and lightning without rain. --- Because I'm vain and superficial, I like to have heaps of purely cosmetic outfits for every occasion and for impromptu screenshots. But 75% of player-made outfits are for female characters only, 50% of those are boring anime ripoffs for pedophiles, and the whole bunch of them require the ridiculous hypersexual alt bodies. I know this is a vain endeavour, but I've been trying to find a swimsuit that works on both genders, and doesn't look like a stripper outfit on females. I don't even care if it requires the type 3 body, since in a way, it just makes females look more like every other video game female character, and especially because the outfit pool is about nil without it. I just want my pointless screenshot of sunbathing on the Tops' diving board. Any ideas, or am I the only one to pay attention to this stuff?

I remember having a similar bug once and it was due to a conflict of some sort. SheepNameKiller fucked around with this message at 19:52 on Jun 27, 2011 |

I have "Nevada Skies - URWLHH" loaded third to last. Only IMAGINATOR and my merged patch load after it. It needs to load extremely late in your order. You might also try screwing with the settings using the "Hygrograph" you get in your inventory. I have the frequency for storms and dust storms jacked up as high as they'll go. Jan is right as far as the thunder thing goes. I frequently get thunderstorms brewing in the game, but rain seems to be relatively rare. It doesn't help that weather seems to reset itself every time you fast travel. Just beware with some of the optional weather settings for Nevada Skies. There's nothing like being caught in the middle of a radiation storm with no shelter for miles in any direction and no Rad-Away or Rad-X on hand. It's even dumber that you can't preview the weather types without receiving this stupid "HAHA YOU'RE A CHEATER EVERYONE LOOK AT THE CHEATER YOU STUPID CHEATER" 'perk' from the mod for your troubles.

I recall the basic radstorms actually aren't optional/special weather types. They're just incredibly rare. But I did once get caught in one of them outside, and it wasn't so bad that I couldn't just hang out with the Space Suit and a pair of Rad-Xs. The optional effects were interesting, but too many of them had a tendency to light up the night like it was daytime, which kind of ruined the fun of exploring in the nighttime for me. I didn't get any perk for previewing them, though, just a bunch of warnings in the thermo-thingy. I'm sure it'd be a piece of cake to nuke that script with FNVEdit or just player.removeperk after, though.

Armory guys: Would it be possible to extend the barrels on the sawed off antique gun and make it fire one shot at a time?
|
# ? Jun 28, 2011 00:41 |

I don't think it'd look very good if I did that; however, I do have an antique looking long barrel shotgun. I didn't put it in for 2.0 because it was near the end of the development cycle and it was a bit more work than I wanted to do (the shell location for the reload needed fixing IIRC) at that time. I could look at it again for 2.5, but Anime Schoolgirl likes to make double barrels fire all at once for some reason so you'll have to bribe him with cookies or something.

The cloud textures in nevada skies are ALL hosed up for me. They're just completely hosed. I installed Western Skies first, but then uninstalled it for Nevada Skies. I tried double checking but it still doesn't work. The FAQ on the nexus says something about making sure a .bsa file installed properly but I have no idea how to know if it did or not. I use FOMM and the FAQ didn't say anything about this issue being associated with it. Any ideas? Also, assuming I can make this work, is it possible to use Western Skies cloud textures with Nevada Skies?

Another Armory question, why is it that my companions use almost none of the weapons? In fact, companion behavior has been strange across the board such as Boone dropping a sniper rifle and picking up a worse weapon. What causes these problems and is there a way to fix their confusion?

I dunno what happened, but all of a sudden my game has become unstable as hell. The only things I've recently added were that track pack I posted a few pages back, and I updated Nevada Skies - URLWHH. I'm not sure if it's the track pack causing the instability, or if it's NS, or what, but I've had to turn CASM's frequency down to every 1 minute just so I don't lose what progress I can make in that length of time. I can't see any major problems in FNVEdit, no conflicts that make the game behave like that. Before I deleted a lot of my backlog of CASM saves, the game was crashing every time I hit the CASM quicksave key. The past several days I've had some performance issues that were cleared up by manually using the PCB console command - performance issues like the inventory taking close to 10 seconds to open up. I really hope I don't have to start over again. Last time my save got about 42 hours in, I had so many instability issues that I had to completely start over. Load order below for what it's worth... They do have ammo for the guns, but I am using the infinite ammo mod for companions (to cut down on micromanagement) and perhaps that is what is causing them to not use most of the weapons. I'll try loading them up with regular ammo shortly and share the results.

Are you using a moderate amount of texture mods and not 4gb enabling your New Vegas .exe? It doesn't honestly sound like a mod conflict and sounds more like your game is crashing due to a lack of memory. Mod conflicts can (usually) be reproduced EVERY TIME you perform an action, memory crashes happen sporadically and are usually due to NVSE and texture mods taxing the NV .exe well beyond its limits. Even if the texture mods you have you've had in place for a long time, what is happening is everything else going on at your game is sucking more memory and texture mods are pushing your game over the limit. Have you tried blowing off a limb and letting the game auto-load? You could also be suffering from savegame bloat and the dismemberment workaround works as a fix sometimes. NotInventedHere posted:Unfortunately that mod will only work with weapons that use the existing ammo lists. It won't allow infinite ammo for weapons that use ammo lists added by a mod. Actually, according to the readme: CompanionInfAmmoOptional.esp makes the following changes: 3. Adds a briefcase to Goodsprings containing a Companion Ammo Source. Any NPC that equips this item (to BodyAddon2) will have infinite ammo. This may be given to custom companions so that they can benefit from this mod. The item is not needed for the default companions. So turn on that .esp, go grab that and toss it on them, see how that works.

Do you have the plain Nevada Skies or the Nevada Skies URWLified? I got the URWLified version first because it was supposedly better and had more options, but it was full of lighting glitches, the most annoying were deep black shadows on random squares (especially near Jacobstown) and some trees would be fully lit even in the middle of the night, it was really crappy looking. I uninstalled it and put in the original Nevada Skies and it's perfect.

I actually don't have any texture mods installed! Though I wouldn't be surprised if it were my PC running out of memory. Thanks to a long-standing issue I've had, I only have two usable gigs of memory. I've been really lazy about fixing it, so yeah. Anyway, I tried disabling the music pack and the constant crashing cleared up. So I can't recommend it as strongly. The "RNVExtended[20]v3b1.esp" mod that was included in the first pack is apparently from a discontinued mod. There's another version out (same author, linked to from the discontinued mod's page) that apparently lets you include 32,000 songs onto Radio New Vegas... including stuff from Galaxy News Radio. So if any of you are willing to fiddle with some insane kind of mod setup, it might be worth checking out. Mr. Crow posted:Rest inside for at least 9 days (whatever your respawn time is). From my experience, the artists are the people most cool with it and those who I did talk to and ask about were all like 'Yeah man, go for it'. It's the Nexus authors that converted it, or 'got permission from another mod' to use it, etc. that will get mad because they feel they've got full control over it 'cuz they took the time to email one of the probably 5 or 6 people who actually made it to get permission. That being said, no, I haven't. Word of The Armory hasn't really gone beyond this thread which I'm grateful for. I didn't make it with the intention of antagonizing people or having it be THE WEAPONS MOD FOR ALL. I mean, if the word gets out I'm prepared for that but for now it's our little secret and for those who use and enjoy it can continue doing so.

I've looked at that a couple months ago and while I could easily frankenstein something together and modify existing weapons to make something like it, I haven't taken the time to actually try it. I need to experiment with it since there are two problems with it - if there's still a revolver animation for 2 handed rifle/automatic, then it's no problem. Otherwise it will look like a pretty goofy one handed rifle firing as a pistol since I'm also fairly certain that you can't have a rifle handgrip for pistols... and it would probably do wonky things with WAR even if you could. edit: ReloadE for OneHandPistol is a revolver reload animation, but ReloadE for TwoHandAuto is the old FO3 Chinese AR/AK animation. So if the revolver animation is still hanging around in TwoHandAuto/Rifle, then it's certainly doable. Sadly, I don't know of any lists out there that specifically state what reload is for what class... Naky fucked around with this message at 14:31 on Jun 28, 2011 |
