Ici's been having serious health problems lately. Took her to emergency vet hospital Wednesday night, found out she has diabetes and a kidney infection. Got her home Saturday.

Unfortunately, when it came time to give her meds that night, I gave her WAY too much insulin because I didn't understand the dosing instructions. We had to rush her back to the hospital.

Her blood glucose has been supplemented with dextrose to try to counter-act the insulin. Even with the IV drip, her bg has been super low for >24hrs.

However, I just got off the phone with the vet and her bg numbers have climbed higher than I expected in the last four hours since I had checked. Hopefully she'll come home tomorrow for good!

I'd like to think that when I have a cat get diabetes I'll be ready for it, since I'm diabetic myself.
