28 Gun Bad Boy posted:A lot of these last couple of tunes posted kind of reminds me of the demos in actual synths. Like if you've ever played with a hardware synth the manufacturer tends to (or used to) put in like wee demo songs to show you what it can do. Basically use as many of the on-board sounds as possible and max out the polyphony. That's what goes in my head when I hear a lot of these things. Oh you mean like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYCuPafLUEQ ?

Like you used to get stuff like this programmed in already (I actually own one of them and can vouch for it's awesomeness, that and I can't find much else on Youtube, but a lot of synths came with them). So like that but y'know, not sounding like it was made for a 1980s buddy cop drama. I know it sounds stupid but that's what runs through my head when I hear some of the tunes posted the past couple posts and from that tutorial video. Like I said not in actual sounds they use, just in how they sequence stuff and the amount of little sounds they put in and how they use them. They're like new product demos. It's like if someone was going to program the factory demo in 2011 that's what they'd make. Only better.

No I was talking about the main synth riff of the song literally being lifted from a sample pack with little to no alteration and it being the #1 on beatport for a while

Was people all up in arms when they found that out or something? I'd imagine the sample CD manufacturers were happy as it probably boosted their sales mega.

The ''whoosh'' effect gets really annoying after a while. As for stompy heavy electro, it's neither electro nor stompy. You missed the mark by a country mile there. That said, there's something about it that I actually DO like, but i'm not quite sure what (please don't take this personally.)

I first heard this track in Joris Voorn's 2010 EM, I think he's the only one that plays it actually. Anyway, its a remix of Underworld's Always Loved a Film by Madskillz. Except its unreleased... the label took his other one which is, in my opinion, not as good. So this was left in limbo as a promo track. It makes me really sad because I would play the hell out of this song. Heres the lovely low quality version, only one on youtube.
