REQUEST: I'm trying to find an image of the young girl who was trapped in a flood or mudslide for days, and news photographers had taken pictures of her looking up at the camera with near-black eyes. I don't remember when or where this was, but the goonhivemind should know.

Thank you thank you thank you. I was trying to explain it to my bf, a prospective thanatologist, and it sparked a nice discussion on the reactions of people who saw the published photo. It's kinda weird that we can categorize a picture of a dying child as "voyeuristic" and outrageous, and then see titties and car wrecks galore with no problem. That last photo looks like it could be a strong candidate for an SCP. A doll that whispers into your ear as your fall asleep, causing you to think/do strange things, or something.

We took this picture July 9th, in Queens NY. My girlfriend's sister used to teach at this school and the kids used to say they saw a boy with no face sitting on the stairs. and they would leave a seat for him during the day. We snapped this picture to show my brother that maybe a ghost face would appear in the window, like you see on this ghost TV shows. AND IT DID! He thinks we photoshopped it, but we didn't. Judge for youself. http://i.imgur.com/MnNvz.jpg Look in the right most window. CreamCheese has a new favorite as of 01:05 on Jul 17, 2011 |

Odd how the child's head has greater resolution than the rest of the picture. (Your friend is correct)

Christ, you could have at least blurred the face a little bit to match the blurriness of the surroundings

Why is the face outside of the window? Ofcourse he thinks it photoshopped, because it is.

It's the one thing that makes me (and a few of my other friends who've taught college freshmen) wish we could teach kids for a while. Young adults won't do poo poo if they're given a creative assignment, but kids really run with it.
