Probably the least known of the early to mid 60's American road racers. A shame, really, because if it had more development and less bad luck off the track it could have been a world beater. 215mph in the early 60's.

Possibly the best looking American race car ever, and a case can be made it's one of the most beautiful cars ever, period.

Thats the most phallic looking car I've ever seen. The rear hatch(?) really accentuates the scrotum much more than the BMW Z cars.

Oh god, gently caress these. I had to listen to "the parking brake is on" over and over again on these while testing them for emissions on a dyno. They would always fail the test because they were lovely cars and I'd have to listen to it for 4 minutes instead of 30 seconds for not lovely cars.

Wouldn't that have worked better for a car like the challenger? Although it would have been a bit of a lie what with the other American sports cars still on the market.

Well it's true that the performance credentials of the current Durango are fairly modest. They need to drop the 6.4l/6spd powertrain from the challenger in to and make an SRT model.

Potentially dumb question: What's the advantage there? Why would a v8 engine of that displacement be advantageous over, say, 2 opposing cylinders totaling the same displacement?

A 4 stroke engine needs at least 5 cylinders for the power strokes to overlap.

At 14k rpm, the penny wouldn't have enough time to jam into anything unless you shoot it out of a gun.

He could still be significantly injured, you'd be impressed at what people will "walk off" before the adrenaline dump wears off, but it's a testament to the manufacturer's (Porsche? looks like a 911) safety that his brains aren't spread across a quarter mile of highway.

Looks like a 350z to me. I forget where, but I think I read recently that according to insurance stats, its the car you are most likely to die in. I cant imagine what it costs to insure one of the things.

Yeah, I've seen broken ribs (the steering wheel and seat belt can do a real number on you if you get smacked from the side and spun), collarbones (excruciating, from what I've seen/heard), ankles, fractured vertebrae (dude refused emergency care, checked into tiny clinic next day with neck pain, X-ray showed fracture, we get to see him again in their waiting room this time and take him to a proper hospital)...

When your body goes into "Oh poo poo" mode, it's crazy what people can compensate for.

\/ edit: Holy poo poo, the camera angle at 1:10 shows just how enormous his balls are, and how well he finesses that. That's something you really don't see often.
e2: I retract that. Every camera angle from that video pretty much does.
