I'd have hope if the season so far wasn't 3 whole Bender episodes, 2 of which being Bender deaths, a gender wars episode and a hurrrr fry episode with heavy Bender themes.

The show's peaked pretty badly and they're beginning to run things into the ground pretty hard.

Bender's become one of the weakest parts of this show. I get that he's a popular character and shifting focus to him somewhat makes sense, but I miss when this show used to be about Fry.

I don't know, it just seems like the writers are falling into a "Family Matters" type of trap. I'm not saying "Futurama sucks now :mad:

" or anything, but a couple more seasons of slowly sliding into this rut and it just might be getting close.

That said, I thought the latest episode was hilarious. V :shobon:

My guess is that the episodes are just being shown in a bad order--I'm sure that this is pretty much it for the Bender-centric episodes.

I think what bothers me most about the new Bender (aside from how he's written) is that DiMaggio's delivery seems to have changed a little. Not a lot, but just enough to make it sound a little off and give it that "post-cancellation" vibe. I think he does it a little gruffer and deeper than he used to. I don't really feel that from any of the other characters.

And of course realize that when I say "bothers me", I don't mean "I'm gettin' angry on the internet!!" about it or anything, just something I noticed that sticks in my mind.

Yeah I mean it's not unexpected, I just don't notice as much of a deviation from the norm from any of the other characters as I do from Bender.

But like I said, it's not a big deal. Just one of those things I pick up on subconsciously.

Like 3 or 4 episodes in, but that's true for most of the main characters. Go listen to Farnsworth from the first couple of episodes and then after that. That's a DISTINCT change.

Fry sounds hugely different to me in the new ones. Moreso than any other character, especially Bender. Bender's actually one of the ones I thought hadn't missed a beat.

I just can't decide if Fry sounds different just because Billy West is getting older, or he's consciously making Fry sound a little different as Fry gets older.
