Bonzo posted:What the hell does he do in therapy? Anytime someone disagrees with him he ultimately shifts to the resolution of "well then don't talk/listen to me". It's all rampant and unstopping insecurity. He's in the Top 5% of Americans income-wise and he's a stupid, miserable gently caress. I can see why people leave that position. To deal with that on a constant basis must be a nightmare. FogHelmut posted:If Langford is gone, what else is there left to care about? I imagine Eric the Midget is excited at this and will call in and wait for hours before falling back into a horrible depression about it. -Atom- posted:Langford was hilarious. He was great at whatever he did, and had a remarkable gravitas about him. Considering he was basically the frontman for a gigantic trolling operation. chiz posted:well, to be fair she didn't know that she was being funny, ie, laughed at. Crotch Bat posted:Probably because he got a better offer. If he cares about his journalism, and I suspect he does, then it's probably been really bad to have that job for the past 12-18 months as literally nothing has happened after Artie left aside from Howard re-signing. He can go work for a legit news outlet and do actual journalism that will make him feel more accomplished. That or he gets a bigger paycheck. I hope so. Despite being a dick at times, he could be a good reporter.

I'd forgotten that along with all the "Eric, seriously, what do you want to be called?" names (e.g. "Eric the lovely Penis," "Eric the Rude, Obnoxious, and Annoying Midget") there were also several sound clips of him just saying stupid poo poo. I always hold that neither Robin nor Howard knew what 0.0 was from. Just watched the video again and it just seems so odd. Artie and Fred are making each other crack up while Robin says/does virtually nothing and Howard just seems annoyed that it interrupts him talking to Eric.

I remember when Gilbert was on and they were cracking each other up with some Eric the Midget jokes that segued into one of the funniest racist tirades I had ever heard. Artie could see through Eric every single time. Even when Artie felt bad, he knew that's how the Midget operated and would strike back. Howard, on the other hand, couldn't see Eric beyond his disabilities and rationalized it by thinking that the Midget was radio gold even though he was dead weight. In a way, I think the ETM appearances on Stern was a true sign of Howard losing his touch. Would the Stern of the '90s even bother with Eric after the 'Smurf Cock' prank?

He reminds me of a lot of people I know who are "pennywise and pound foolish." If he would have had someone like a Don Buchwald negotiate for him instead of finding an agent in the Pennysaver, maybe he'd still have a career. Quite frankly, the fact that he wasn't able to use his success from the show to make a profitable career for himself shows how bad of a businessman he really is. He's like one of those people who are dirt poor, win the lottery, and lose it all in a couple years.

The show's the worse off for not having him on it now, though the Artie years were by and large unbelievably good. So many years later, if they got Jack back somehow, I'd start to care about the show again.
