If that's the one I think it is (and I don't feel like logging in at work to find out), doesn't she provide sex and a bunch of other animu porn stuff?

That'd explain both the high ratings and the creepiness.

Yep, that's the one. I was looking for companion mods yesterday to see if there was anything as crazy as that Sonic mod and this was the highest rated I found: a bratz doll-looking character with the voice of a likely obese woman and you can have sex with her. Good job, Nexus.

I'm pretty sure it's just a fade to black scene without any Nexus trademark animated blowjobs or fisting and is probably pretty typical fare for goofy rear end video game romance sex. It's also totally optional, so much so that I've totally avoided it. As far as I can tell there's no weird animu porn poo poo in the mod, but it is kind of girly at times.

If you want a more toned down companion experience the Marcus and Melissa companion mods are the best I've found, but I am not sure if they follow you to DLC. The Sunny Smiles companion mod is good too, again not sure on the DLC part.

Still working on Pip-Boy Item Descriptions (tentative title), but I may have a technical issue in the near future.

The program I'm using just adds text to the icon texture, which is probably the best way to do it, but not only do some very different items share icons (Electron Charge Packs have the same icon as standard Micro Fusion Cells) but it seems lazy to keep unique weapons with the same description as normal ones (Maria is different enough from the standard 9mm that it warrants its own flavor text). So I will probably need to make an .esp that changes the icon from the default for every item that uses a base weapon's icon.

The problem: Almost every new item in the game needs this treatment. Won't any mod that changes other things about a unique weapon or icon-reusing item conflict with mine, forcing the end user to lose either the flavor text or the item's modded properties?

Instead of altering the base icons, assign new icons to old items. That way anything you miss (or choose to ignore) and modded items will be unaffected. It'll also make it easier to keep organized for unique descriptors.

I've just installed all of Ojo Bueno and it seems to be running fine but I'm only in the very beginning of the game.

(Also, are the Fallout Enhanced Shaders really subtle or should I be tweaking the setting? Two mods I am going to try out right now related to the DLC - Reuinted and it feels so good (stupid name) and Honest Hearts extensions. Honest Hearts Extensions moves the reward at the end of Honest Hearts and spreads it across Zion, so that you have to actually go back and explore. Seems pretty good, but I have yet to start it up.
This looks pretty nice. It was pretty disappointing that you couldn't continue using the companions from Dead Money (or Honest Hearts).

Are there any other interested DLC-related mods out there?

It might be nice to have a section in the OP specifically for DLC mods. I bet there are other people like me who are playing the game now specifically because of the DLC.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. It's better practice to use an .esp to manage your icons, since it'll allow the end users to easily enable or disable the mod as they see fit. Ideally, they'd be managing asset mods through FOMM (so it wouldn't matter), but it's best to cater to as many people as possible.

In addition, pointing everything to the new icons without changing the old ones makes interaction with other mods better behaved, as I detailed earlier.

I actually think WME is pulling ahead of WMX as the better weapon mod system now that WME has a bunch of compatibility patches developed for it. The selling point of WME to me is that every mod is visual and adds or varies the gun's model, whereas WMX has some mods that don't change the cosmetic design and some that do.

The selling point of WMX was always that it had better compatibility patches, but nowadays both are about the same in that regard.

If they replace the default hairstyles rather than simply adding new ones, then yes, any NPC that formerly had a normal hairstyle will now have one of the crazy ones. Alternatively he might have gone and modified them manually, but unless he specifically mentioned doing that, I think the former is more likely.

If you're comfortable with using FNVEdit or GECK, you can probably open up the mod and change the IDs on the new hairstyles so they're actually new entries rather than overriding the default hair options. You may also need to modify the basic race files to allow them to use the new hairstyles, as well. I don't exactly remember how to set that stuff all up, the last time I used the GECK was for Fallout 3.

The new OP looks nice, but could you put these two links in there. First one is Satchels which is the "brother" of Tailor Maid. Where Tailor Maid uses Fallout 3 objects as accessories, Satchels uses New Vegas objects as accessories.

And Sierra Madre Vending Machine for SINK is a good one to put down for "DLC". It fits the lore of the series, since the Think Tank made those machines for the Sierra Madre, and it's fits in nicely inside your SINK hideout.

"It depends." I say that a lot, but it really does depend on the weather mod you're using, as well as the other mods in your load order. Project Nevada adds a variety of "vision enhancements" through implants, helmets, and night vision devices. AG Supplementary Uniques adds "Low-light Binoculars" that are pretty handy. Both of these are currently in my load order.

However, Nevada Skies has an optional plugin that allows you to adjust nighttime brightness. It's useful if you don't enjoy fumbling around in the dark.
