I heard a song on the local college radio the other day, it was an ensemble hip hop song with not much more than table-banging percussion, and it was a bunch of dudes lamenting on the conditions of their education. It included lines like "the counselor told my girlfriend she should be a cosmetologist" and alot of lines about teachers that don't care because they're underpaid.

I'm trying to find the name of a pop song that came out recently. The video was a bunch of girls on couches looking passed out with their heads looking towards ceiling. They all sing the song in autotune. Anyone know what the hell i'm talking about?

I guess I might as well try here. There's this old 90s/80s song that really sounds like the first ten seconds of Dancing in the Moonlight http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yBnIUX0QAE&ob=av3n At least that's the tone of the song, but it's sung by a girl and pop music I think. And it's kinda trashy, used on tv when they need a "sexy" song. It's been driving me crazy for months, I don't even want to listen to it, just know what it is so it'll stop bothering me.

I posted a thread in PYR before I realized this existed, but I've heard this bassline in a local bar a handful of times and have never been able to get a bartender to identify it for me. The bass line stuck in my head pretty well though, and I'm almost postive it's relatively similar to this recording. http://soundcloud.com/zzevannn/mysterybassline Please help?

I heard a song on a music podcast around this time last year. I think it was All Songs Considered but I really can't be sure as I haven't listened to any podcasts since last winter and can't remember names. The song I'm thinking of is by a female artist who is (I am pretty sure) from some country outside the US and I want to say African but I can't quite recall. I think it was off her album that had recently come out in the last several years. The most telling thing about the song is that there is a part where she says "Blood, blood, blood, blood, blood, blood, blood, blood." Her pronunciation of blood is kind of odd which may have been due to her accent. Also at this part the background music recedes until it is just her saying blood over and over. She's not really singing it, she's sort of half whisper half saying it. I hope some amazing person knows what the hell I'm talking about. e. I found it all on my own! This is more of a "help me identify a CD" then a song. I was at a bar the other night, and a Deftones song came up. A friend of mine and I were talking about listening to them back in high school, and I described an album that he didn't remember, and I've been googling to no avail. Wiki has been of no help either. I don't remember whether it was the CD or the jewel case, but I distinctly remember the art being of a blue-ish, almost aqua background with a big white fluff ball on it (kind of like a dandelion). I could swear it was a deftones album, because I remember when I first heard it laughing at the contrast of how calm and soothing the image was in comparison to the music. Am I going insane, did I just imagine this??? Thanks in advance.

I'm looking for a song with whistling at the end and a kinda happy, bouncy lilt. It fades out and then fades back in. I can only remember the whistling riff! It's got an indie feel to it and I think the chorus is sung by a guy and a girl. I'm pretty sure it was in the last year or so. It is NOT the following: Young Folks - Peter, Bjorn, John Home - Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes Pumped Up Kicks - Foster the People Tighten Up - Black Keys Here's how the ditty goes: http://soundcloud.com/xbraincloudx/unknown-whistle-song Braincloud fucked around with this message at 02:41 on Jul 26, 2011 |

IIRC, some guy yells out "REEEEMIX!" at some point. I tried googling the lyrics and can't find anything. I'm almost positive the song was called "get the cash", but I can't seem to find this specific tune among all the other ones with the same title. Help?

Okay, I'm desperate to find a song by Die Toten Hosen, and unfortunately I don't have a lot of info to go on as it's probably been six or seven years since I've heard it. The lyrics were in English, and I'm pretty sure the song had to do with summertime. Besides that, all I've really got is that I remember it being much more pop than punk. If anybody has any ideas, I'd be extremely grateful. Edit: Was able to find it. Daydreaming from the album Auswartsspiel. Ruzaii fucked around with this message at 03:51 on Jul 27, 2011 |

However, and exhaustive google search turns up several false positives. Can anyone ID the club song in this video? Thanks!

Looking for a song that's in Spanish. Only problem - I don't speak Spanish. Sorry if this is bizarre. I am under the impression that it is a recent release/very popular right now. The (spanish) radio station I hear it on also plays a lot of stuff like Give Me Everything (Pitbull) and ET (Katy Perry). The only word I think that I can make out it "luna" (luuuuna, emphasis on the u), but I am pretty sure it is part of the title or at least the chorus.

We might be looking for the same one, so far this is the closest I've found: Don Omar - Danza Kuduro I don't think it's the exact song I heard, but it seems to be at least on the right track. The vocalist in mine had a deeper voice and the song wasn't one long chorus. And I think there was a bit more instrumentation going on, less constant vocals.

I already know this is Holst's "Mars: Bringer of War", from The Planets, but this particular version of the song which I've had on my computer for God-knows-how-long is different. You'll notice that, at the beginning, it has those eerie sound effects. So far, I haven't found any version of this song that matches this one, and I'd like to find the release it came from so I can complete the set. Does anyone know which version/release of The Planets this track comes from?
