Also, he is clearly feeling the heat of fan rage about the three day week... He has a new rap about it, and he has given it THREE times already this morning. "You see, I was going to retire, I wanted out. And then Sirius came to me and was like, we need you, how about you do a few less shows a year? I thought that was a great compromise! So basically, it was this or nothing, not my fault, so deal with it. And if you are complaining, then you aren't a true fan." What an rear end in a top hat.

I do not believe that Sirius, knowing they were going to hike up prices, came to Howard and said, "Here's a great idea - stay here and work less!" He also said that "it's satellite" so he doesn't have to be there everyday. He has officially gone off the deep end. If anything because the station is all his 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, he does need to be there more to provide content - because outside of his show these channels offer nothing. I believe he played hardball with Sirius and they caved eventually, but I don't think they presented this grand idea to him - remember all the posturing last year about all the opportunities he had waiting in the wings? He IS an absolute rear end in a top hat. burmart posted:He's a loving delusional nut. Indeed. I didn't hear the part where he said it wasn't Ralph. Robin actually referred to the apes from the new Apes movie as animatronic, and last week she called the Lizard from Spider-Man "Dr. Liz-Ard," as in rhymes with shard. Maybe she should avoid the whole movie topic.

Such a milquetoast response to both the leaked screener and his new vacation schedule. Ever since the Oprah deal all he did was bitch about her taking all that money and never showing up. All along he wanted the exact same deal because he's just lazy and doesn't care anymore. He has a trophy mare and a nice house in the hamptons to retire to. Why not collect a bunch of money and phone it in for the next five years at the expense of your fans?

A silent means of tipping someone off without making a scene, basically.

It's fairly common to see staff at radio stations making copies of new release albums and pretty much any other promo material that comes through the offices. I could very easily see a policy of "Go ahead, just delete it when you're done" applied to screeners.

And now that people are complaining about his schedule on his Twitter feed, he's responded by saying he's done with Twitter and won't post any more "hot photos" he took of Beth. I'll be honest Howard, your photos of Beth were never a draw for me to read your Twitter in the first place. I'm tired of listening to him talk about how he's busy studying photography 12 hours a day, anyway. I thought he's supposed to always be busy working on new material for the show for us when he's not in the studio? That's why he "researches" all of the reality TV like Dancing With The Stars. If he found out someone on his staff had a hobby they were devoting as much time to, they'd never hear the end of it.

Anytime something he's involved with gets challenging, he retreats and find's something else to obsess over and "master". His marriage and family life was poo poo so he hid in the basement watching bondage porn and hanging out on AOL because it "helped him get material for the show". Howard really isn't that much different then your average YouTube commenter, redditor, or Troper. He has issues with being a functional part of society, women, and friendships. Anytime someone challenges him he retreats and finds one or two people, usually listeners, to agree with him which somehow makes it all ok. Artie was the only person I've heard that actually made Howard aware of this to the point that Howard listened to and digested what Artie had to say. However, I think that Artie knew that if he just agreed with whatever crap Howard was saying then he could come in high as gently caress and no one would say a word.

He really doesn't want to work anymore, and only took the additional 5 years because he felt bad about his staff. He's way too prideful to take any kind of pay cut, so he agreed to work less days instead. He also couldn't give a poo poo how many subscribers leave at this point because he hates Sirius, he gets paid regardless, and he knows he's retiring after this stint. So basically whatever the show is now, take it or leave it.

A Intimate Rimjobs posted:I miss Richard and Sal's antics. Was there ever an explanation for why they stopped coming into the studio? Howard doesn't like any of their ideas for bits. Richard wants Howard to chloroform him and then remove his clothes while he's passed out. Another proposed idea was that Richard and Sal want to be hung upside down and naked. A cup will be placed on their faces, and they will compete to see who will fill their cup up with urine first. The gimmick is that they will piss all over themselves. Neither is as creepy as Benji wanting to put a naked woman in a box with holes in it so people can reach in and grope her. This would take place on the street in Harlem. According to Benji, this detail is what gives the bit context.

According to Benji, this detail is what gives the bit context. I actually participated in this at a pervert camp I went to last year. It was a plywood box, a little bigger then a phone booth, with a bunch of port holes so you could reach through to grope the naked person inside. The port holes were covered with black rubber, to keep light from getting in. This kept it dark inside in box, so the gropers were anonymous. There was a night vision camera set up inside, and a 2 big monitors on top of the box, so you could see the reactions of the person being groped. This was a lot of fun in the safe environment of camp, but doing it on street? Not only does that make it creepy, it makes it a sex crime. "Context", my rear end.

It's a joke and he's a moron for re-signing for 5 years. 2-3 should have been the max because I guarantee you by year 3 or 4 the hate is just going to be a neverending stream of tweets, e-mails, etc. about how god-awful the show has been and how he's basically ruined a reputation he spent a lifetime building. He's already a shade of his former self but can you imagine how pathetic it'll be in year 5? I almost wonder if he's got some hidden clause in his contract that lets him wiggle out and retire because I just really don't see him doing this, even as little as he works, for another 4.5 years.

It's only on once or twice a week I think in the last six weeks the only show I listened to was the Lady Gaga one. When I check marksfriggin on occasion it reminds me I'm not missing anything: three day weeks of endless photography/Apple/lame TV discussions, incorrect news stories, repetitive bits from Sal and Richard, an empty Artie chair, and interviews with has-beens like Flavor Flav, Tatum O'Neal, Leslie West, Dice Clay etc. It's tragic that a once-amazing, influential show like this had to slowly dwindle and disintegrate, but apparently that's how Howard wanted it.

The Milton Berle one was the best though, He was like a scolding adult to Howard's childish and outlandish questions, but Howard still managed to draw him in for some really funny lines between the two.
