Do weapons equipped by NPCs not display mods? I gave Cass the riot shotgun with an extended drum before we went and kicked in the Van Graff's door, but she just had the regular drum model in her hands. I also forgot I changed my screenshot button in Fraps so god drat I lost so many great shots, like one of her freaking out as I cleared out the entire barracks at Crimson Caravan, including a single eyeball flying past her while she was all D: God dammit. Oh well, guess I get to splatter brains all over some more

I recall reading somewhere that companions can't use modded weapons period - when you give them one, they'll actually be using the standard version; it doesn't delete the mods from the weapon, it just ignores them while the NPC has it. Unrelated: Is there a mod that allows SPECIAL/skills to exceed the cap with buffs? I don't want to be able to increase my stats/skills above 10/100 naturally, but I'd like to receive some benefit from buff items when I've already capped them out. It seems kind of odd that most stealth based equipment has become useless for my stealth based character (see also: guns and lockpick). I found this mod, but that only seems to remove the cap from SPECIAL, not skills as well.

Those screwed up clouds are what happen if you don't use the "optional" cloud pack. At least, using the cloud pack is what fixed the problem when I had it.

Probably not what you're looking for but I use Portable Tent. It's a bit OP in that it basically negates weight as a thing that matters (you can put this tent pretty much anywhere and store a billion pounds of poo poo in it and it will weight 150 when you put it back on) but things like weight and not having a place to sleep annoy me. Other than that, Lucky 38 Expanded was always a good one.

This is interesting to me in that it makes weight not a real thing without just giving you a billion carry weight, which for me always results in an inventory that becomes so overstuffed that it's impossible to navigate.

Ok, this is weird. Whenever I use the 4GB execuatble, the game will randomly speed up sometimes. The NPC talking animations finish about 2 seconds before the audio does, and my character is able to run around much faster than he should be able to. This only happens when I use the 4GB exe, and everything seems normal with the vanilla launcher. Is this a known bug or something?

That way I can deal with it without scrolling through a billion weapons I don't feel like getting rid of but never use.

Also the backpack helps with my ~immersion~ because pulling a minigun out of your pocket never made any sense to me. Hiding a vault full of poo poo in a backpack big enough for a shotgun and a couple boxes of ammo doesn't make any sense either but it definitely makes my character seem more like somebody who is exploring a rugged dangerous wasteland and not going out for a stroll around the block. It's optional I think so if you don't feel the same way you don't need to use it. But all around its one of the best mods imo in a playability sense.

I was playing around with a color grading shader which is a little more adaptive than that color mood thing: It's a little less dramatic with the colors and made me remove the palette file alltogether. This stuff is really tiring though, after a while everything starts to kind of look the same.

Is there a mod that tones down the casino lights on the Strip during the day or, even better, just turns them off? I've never been to Vegas but I figure they don't keep them on in daylight and the overexposed-ness annoys me.

Been enjoying NV all over again with these mods, one problem I have is that upon buying ammo supply boxes (Box of Cases, Jars of primers), the game crashes immediately after purchasing. I'm assuming that the game is crashing when trying to convert the Boxes/Jars into their actual items. Any idea which mod could be causing the problem? It's due to where wmx is in your load order I would imagine. It should be closer to the end. You need to install and run BOSS, because all of those mods are on BOSS auto sort list (or most of them). As for my own modding problems; I've pretty much fixed them by running the newest BOSS. It left me with 16 some unidentified mods. I placed those manually after studying some other people's load orders, looking at a rough guide of Fallout 3 load orders by some person named Arwen, and doing things by trial and error. I quicktraveled a few times and loaded my game about 5 or 6 times last night and nothing crashed. So it may be fixed, or I may need to tweak some more things.

UHNV is buggy, crash prone, bloated, and really the only thing it has going for it are the weapon walls. Other mods even do that better. I don't have a link handy, (on my tablet) but try the Survivalist's Bunker. It's better in nearly every way.

Actually it doesn't crash that much that I've noticed and the scripting that it uses is really well done(albeit inefficient at a few places. The VR training scripting is especially ). It's just that it goes so overboard in so many places that that it becomes ridiculous and annoying. There is no need for a housing mod to have 5+ scripts running all the time to deal with doors being opened or closed. Not to mention that it makes no effort to explain its presence in or blend in with the world itself. The base mod itself was really good, its just the modder got overzealous with adding weird and mundane poo poo that no one wanted instead of adding stuff the mod could have actually benefited from. I just started using it and some of the features are pretty annoying, I especially dislike the fact that it's split up among 4 different locations. I want my player home to have everything (crafting/reloading/bed/storage/etc.) within about 30 feet and no loading screens. If the consensus is that it's bloated and unwieldy it should get bumped from the OP, or at least have an alternate suggestion posted with it.

How do we alter conditions for dialogue topics? I can't find any edit button. I think this is the last thing stopping me from copying the Stealth Suit AI onto another outfit. Making the suit an invisible accessory would be cheating and I get to learn more about scripting this way.

Yeah, the camping tent is really the best "hideout" for the Courier, since it fits the Courier's nomadic life and it has every convenience you could possibly need, all in one location. Plus added weight capacity with the backpack equipped and... seriously that things's a godsend.

Just having a few friends over at my place. The fuckers wouldn't stay still to let me take a good picture. Made using the followers home marker mod for the vanilla npcs, spawning the dead money npcs in the console, creating mute clones of the Honest Hearts Npcs in the Geck since the game deletes them after the dlc ends and finally adding sandbox packages to everyone for the sink. Has anyone come across a mod that allows you to recruit the DLC followers for the main game?
