It's just painful how much being without an Artie or a Jackie really is when listening. You could keep all the content and just add them in and the show is instantly better by leaps and bounds. It doesn't matter whether they're making fun of Jackie or Artie's making subtle jabs at porn stars, the show just seems soulless right now. It's a shell and there's nothing inside making it what it used to be.

It sounds like you're reaching for something to complain about since you've been universally negative in this thread. Howard has had on strippers and porn stars and visual bits since before the E show started in 1994. They've actually cut down a lot of those guests over the years. The radio show at this point is 90% Howard telling Robin about his latest hobby or Wolfie interviewing nerds. That's hardly "a television bit and they are just playing the audio on the radio." HowardTV is nothing new and it's probably better because it's uncensored, commercial free, and has no timeslot restrictions. quote:Also most the good talent that worked on the E! show left before the transition to Howard TV. Besides Robin Radzinski and Scott Einziger who left? Einziger turned out to be a plagiarist so good riddance.

It kills me to think it will never be put out on DVD. Scott Einziger was the genius behind the E! show and produced 99% of the episodes. He went on to work for CBS and did Big Brother and a few other shows.

How often do Sal and Richard do prank phone calls today? I've never subscribed to Sirius, although I would now if Artie was still on and people said the show was still good, but the prank calls on youtube are by far the funniest I've heard the show be in the satellite era. I was crying from laughing so hard the first time I discovered them on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UzcwNhjHS_U&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMquBRTGhik&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOZYKaMQTL0

Former Human posted:I wonder how much HowardTV you've seen since you claim nobody subscribes to it, or the last time you listened to the radio show? I have watched plenty of it, and I listened to the show the other day as evidenced by my knowledge of the Howard look alike whom was a bad radio guest. Every so often there is something released by HowardTV that I would like to see, mostly older stuff uncensored as you said. While it is nice to have content uncensored there is a HUGE difference in the quality between the old E! show and HowardTV. Not only is the budget on each episode near nothing so there is very bad production values on it that makes it look cheap, but in the move from E! they lost a lot of talent that you are not aware of, mostly in the post production department in which HowardTV has basically none. They have no real professionals working there, Goodstein, Depace and loving Gauge. Gauge is a loving supervising producer. This is a guy who can't make a loving baked potato if we don't remember. While I am aware that most of the show has always been Howard just talking about nonsense, when there is a actually preplanned segment anymore it is mainly done for the HowardTV audience. I am not talking about the naked girls and whatnot either, even the contests and faux gameshows are more of a visual thing today compared to the old days. I mainly listen to old shows anymore. While you have always been able to see a evolution of the show while listening to different years, there were always little things that were the same, it was never drastic. A show from 91 and 98 for example are fairly the same, although you have little changes the humor and flow of the show still works the same way. If you listen to a show from 2008 and compare that to a show last week you would be shocked at how different it is. Perhaps I am negative on the show, but I feel like they have let me down as a long time listener and fan. I imagine it is like if you are a sports fan and your favorite player either sticks around longer than they should have or underperforms on purpose. It is depressing, sad and makes you a little angry at them. I don't feel like I am anymore more negative about the current state of the show than anyone else here, I think we sort of have a universal consensus that it is terrible.

During the vacation I listened to a ton of the Artie flood. At first I was happy to have new shows to listen to this week. Then I heard Monday's show and the lack of Artie (and all that Robin... animatronic apes???) put a nice fine point on how much worse the show has become. I still enjoyed the stuff about Richard's wedding, though. What it Tim on? I'll be listening to Tuesday's show tomorrow. I hope Psyche is awesome live, because his vocals, instrumentation, and production are loving amazing. I sing and play guitar and make music, and I know how insanely hard it is to sing like that, especially with hose dense vocals a la Queen. Amazing production, Little Mikey sounds like a terrible hack by comparison. Also, I am SO loving SICK of little Mikey always rhyming oo with goo. Thing of something new, goddammit.

So tired of hearing about what a REAL MANLY MAN Chuck Zito is. Is he for real or is he kind of Dice where he actually somewhat became his character?

At some point Chuck Zito invented a story wherein he knocked out Jean-Claude Van Damme with one punch after a bit of shittalking and fisticuffs; JCVD claims to never have met Mr. Zito and there is some dispute as to whether this event ever actually happened. Zito then parlayed it into a role on Oz, which cemented his role as Alpha Male in Howard's mind.

I'd say if Zito was the leader of Hell's Angels and did real time in prison then he is probably legit. Although it is annoying when Howard talks about him. Same as when Howard gushes about how handsome Stamos is.

Aren't the Hell's Angels more of a club than gang in most aspects? The Pagans are very active around here (some family members are involved) and their lower chapter the Tribe and it seems much more of a club aspect than all around gang level activity. Then again I don't know what their MO is these days other than probably drugs.

A blurb in the New York Times about the podcast with Joe Materese quotes someone from Fox Sports saying that they weren't interested in Artie. http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/07/22/artie-lange-discusses-a-return-to-radio-and-his-road-to-recovery/ Maybe they just said that since nothing had been signed yet?

Doug: "Sorry Howard." Howard: "I never ask you to do anything, and now this one thing you can't do!" Holy poo poo, what a baby. I know he wants the drat picture up but expecting your staff to be ready and willing to bend to your every whim, on a weekend, placing his requests above their family. Sheesh! Hey Howard, some of work to live, not live to work. Speaking of which, doesn't Howard get all bitchy when people tweet at him that he should be working during his time off, yet he can browbeat his staff about their work ethic on their unpaid weekends.

Howard talking about being at the birthday party with Elton John performing gave me douche chills. What was a even mote disturbing conversation was Robin talking about her car accident over the weekend. Robin was over reacting about the situation like the 34 she is but Howard showed no concern over the story at all. It was a bizarre interaction.

I ran into Chuck Zito at the Rainbow Room on Sunset 5 or 6 years ago, he definitely had a tough-guy attitude and was certainly intimidating enough, but it looked like he was playing a Hollywood role straight from Central Casting. I have no doubt he is/was a toughguy, but I also think he's definitely embellished his story to make it more interesting. I walked past him on my way to the toilets and said "Hey Chuck, big fan - keep up the good work on Oz...where you play yourself as a character" and he said "Hey thanks man" and scowled and went back to chatting up the porn blonde he was talking to. I got the gently caress out of there before he started swapping spits though.
