I'm sure he didn't install them himself, so when you add in outrageous labor, you could get pretty close to $6k for all of that.

The 300 front end on the Durango? Looks like it was stuck on with 3M double-stick.

No doubt, he and his guys always do amazing work...I just think sometimes it can be a little too over the top, or sometimes stuff gets done that doesn't seem necessary. Even if I don't like a final design, I still like watching his show just to see how the ideas come together, and watching stuff get stripped, disassembled, and put back together in such a short time.

Unless the AWD system had launch control (which it obviously didnt) a 3500lb car with 280hp and 350ft lbs of torque does not do 0-60 in 4.3 seconds. They may have been underrated, but even then, i do not believe the 0-60 times. edit: doh, only wikipedia citing car and driver says 4.3. I really hate 0-60 times

Dave Inc. posted:So this just came up in my area. Update on this car: Half the interior was missing, the power steering pump mount was broken and unusable, the timing belt had snapped before so the head was replaced (but who knows what damage the pistons took), it had spots of rust on every body panel and the best part was that the seat mounts were rusted through--there was no way to attach the seats (driver and passenger) without cutting and rebuilding that portion of the frame. Pass. So I just told him the wheels were worth $400-500 alone (they were perfect if dusty) and to just part out the rest. Me, I don't have the space/tools for the kind of work it needed and I wanted something I could drive and fiddle around with on weekends--not a parts car.

That sucks, but unfortunately a lot of these are turning into parts cars due to massive abuse. Getting rust on every body panel and rusting the seat mounts out in a car that was hot-dip galvanized at the factory takes some serious work. Like allowing Bubba and Clem at the local paint shop to sand things down to metal and beyond when they do your respray.
