I tore through the Medstar books on Nckdictator's recommendation and they were good enough. This whetted my appetite for new (to me) star wars books so I picked up Shadows of Mindor...parts of it are good, but Luke is just so loving emo that I can barely stand the parts with him in it, and sigh with relief when the story goes back to other characters.

What new non-FotJ/NJO book should I read after I finish Shadows? And by new I don't mean in the EU timeline, just published after NJO books started coming out and I quit reading star wars books for the most part.

"We were watching footage the other day of the walker sequence [in Empire Strikes Back] and we both keyed on the same thing at the same moment - which is when one of the walkers is being hit by laser fire, and you see [marks] appearing on it. I don’t think that either one of us have ever noticed that before."

The ILM duo also revealed that some work was needed before the original trilogy was fit for Blu-ray, although fans will be happy that was confined to improving the picture quality, rather than fiddling with the films themselves: "The interesting thing about Star Wars and the Star Wars series of films is that they’ve been restored two or three times in the past decade, and so they were in pretty good shape to begin with.," said Bill George.

Add the Ladies of Star Wars Playing Cards to the mix and suddenly, the game is more interesting again. Does Mike have a great hand or is he just staring into the eyes of a Twi'lek dancing girl? I just read Heir to the Empire for the first time. It was on my library's Overdrive section. I had read the comics before, but the books seem much better. Now I am on the long waiting list for the second book. Maybe I should just give in and buy the Kindle versions

I just wish I knew which of the Star Wars books my library has on Overdrive are the good ones.

2) the lovely twist with the guy and his pilot on the Chimaera

Having the main three and Zahn's pet characters all manage to converge on the same system and almost but not quite run into each other is kind of a played out and obnoxious gag that's been done to death throughout genre fiction, but on the whole Choices of One is pretty good.

A quick question here- how human are Anzati supposed to look like? See, I'm playing an Anzat in an RPG, and the sourcebooks (along with Dannik Jerriko) present Anzati as near-Humans with large, ridged noses, but other sources seem to make them out as perfectly humanlike, except when the cheektacles come out. We're playing in the Core Worlds during the Rebellion, so it's kinda important that we either look as human as possible, or like one of the slave races (and I'm not really wanting to play a Twi'lek or Wookiee).
