Any thoughts on CCMs? I'd be more interested in the 404 (with the DRZ engine) than the 604.

For 850?, that's not bad just to have as a toy. Dunno about parts availability, etc, but that cheap you could probably part it and break even at the worst.

There is the small matter of not having a license for more than 33bhp. Which I don't even have yet. Otherwise, I totally would. In actuality, I should just wait for a drz to turn up at a reasonable price :smith:

edit to say what it is: 2004 KLR with 20K miles for $1500.

http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/mcy/2610519315.html

Ad's too long to post but here's the summary:

quote:

THE GOOD:
It has a great aftermarket windscreen/fairing
recent aftermarket exhaust with new header
new chain (about 4000 miles)
large 6.6 gallon gas tank
comfortable aftermarket seat
aftermarket bash plate.
aftermarket maer hand guards
completely tuned before translabrador trip ( I spent quite a bit of
money making sure I felt comfortable taking it on such a long trip )
Front forks redone before the trip!
comes with extra clutch cable, throttle cables, clutch lever, brake lever
I also got a few things from the old owner: old gas tank and old
fairing and some extra side panels (I don't think they're in good
shape donno how useful they are to you).
I have an extra set of tires that I took off of it, they are more
street oriented but they are decently worn down.

THE BAD:
wind screen has two "star" cracks from rocks hitting it on a recent
trip (but after 3000 miles they don't seem to be getting bigger, so it
seems the integrity of the windshield is fine, the windshield is
removable so you might be able to buy just that for cheap from the
manufacturer).
busted rear shock (I've been driving it fine but its a very springy
ride the damping's gone as well as the oil that was in it, easy fix
once you score a cheap replacement shock )
speedo cable went bad midway through Labrador trip and so the odometer
is between 1K and 2K less than it should be (easy fix just replace the
cable).

THE UGLY:
the usual little offrading scruffs, only tipped over once on Lab trip,
when it was blown over in the night by the wind.
also its a KLR, clearly not a pretty bike.

Rear shock is a few hundred but it's a pretty good deal otherwise.

I'm selling a 1980 Yamaha XS400 Special. I bought it without thinking that I'd need a space to work on it. Trying to work on a bike on the sidewalk is not the most comfortable thing in the world. So my loss is your gain! The bike will start and idle, but not rev. The man I bought it from gave me a big tub of parts that will go with the sale. Included are an extra gas tank, about five carburetors, a second seat with a passenger backrest, a few speedometers and tachometers, two extra ignition units, a couple extra engine covers, extra lights, and an extra stator. There's some more stuff in there too. The bike also has a brand new battery.

The bike itself is complete and has 9,200 miles on the clock. I have a clear title in hand. Send me an email to arrange a meet up. I'm open to offers.
