My problems with skullgirls don't have anything to do with the anime art style and everything to do with the pantyshots. I'll still probably end up playing it since it looks fun but I just can't help but wonder why they felt the need to put those in. Especially so goddamn many. And KoFXIII looks like it's picking up some traction in the US already. Not a fuckton, but a little bit. We'll have to wait and see when it comes out, but it getting a decent scene going isn't an impossibility.

Because the dude who created the IP is your typical anime weirdo? Seems pretty obvious, idk. It's kind of disappointing that they're limiting their potential audience by doing this poo poo but what are you gonna do? The people driven enough to make a new IP sprite-based 2D fighter in 2011 are going to be weirdos with weird interests. Why else would there be so many anime little girl fighters? The series was popular as all hell here in Brazil and the rest of South America, but I feel like even at its apex, it wasn't all that popular in the USA. Am I right? If it becomes somewhat popular, you'll start seeing a lot more of South Americans at big majors, I'd wager. I just joined the club, but my local group picked up 2002 UM in anticipation of XIII. I think this one seems like it will be a bit more popular than the others.

Speaking of KoF XIII and how much rear end it kicks, check this video out: http://www.gameinformer.com/games/k...spx?PageIndex=2 Checkout 19:50 in particular. THIS, is how you do a color edit mode. E: For those who don't have patience or at work: The characters regions are separate, and you can assign colors individually to each one (e.g. hair, cap, pants color1, pants color2, etc...). However, you can't choose any color freely. You have preset colors, and you unlock more colors during the course of the game. Not sure I'd call having to unlock colors the right way to do a color edit mode. Hopefully they aren't a pain to unlock. I'm still worried about the netcode, I guess nobody has had a chance to do a hands-on of that yet.

What's going on when one character glows sort of whitish and it looks a bit like there's some Genei Jin stuff going on? Does every character have that, because I swear I've seen it twice now from different characters.

Have you ever been to SVGL or SJSU tournaments? We've probably met. I was friends with the old Marvel players back in the day like Chunksta, Cableguy and Anthoneezy.

I played for a bit a long time ago but I was away for college at the time and just started getting back into it this year in like March. I've met Chunksta a few times because I play at Hiro's every once in a while but I don't play marvel so I haven't played with him at all. I'm on the other side of 237 though so I go to MGL once or twice a week but that's about it. I've been going to gamecenter on Sundays since they have GvG for 25c per play from 3-6. It's way more fun than I expected it to be. I haven't checked out Southtown yet but I've been meaning to for a while. Probably going to try to get out there in the next few weeks. From what I've seen (just on the ipw streams), kof really seems to be hitting it off up there. I'm interested in seeing what happens when it comes out. Would like to see SVGL or MGL get cabs so I could check it out more easily but I think that's pretty unlikely. I'm sure I'll see you around though, I've been trying to get more active and start going to more local stuff. Went to streetwise for AE on Saturday and only like 10 people showed up so he didn't even bother putting on mvc and 3s, we just did a quick AE tourney and played some casuals. It was still fun though and I'll definitely be at the others and Tight or Fight.

In practice you juggle whoever you are playing against too the corner and do like 500, 600 if you super by using it, and if you go to neo max from super most characters have 100% combos.

Cue 3 loving hours of Shadow Dio short hop crossup tick/wakeup throw 4-hit resets and mixups. I didn't even realize there was a crossup until fight 6 or so because his stand was obscuring my character (and I was too busy freaking out over the high-low mixup and then trying to tech throw mixups). I have never met a more unhelpful person in my life. The only advice he ever gave me was "pushblock the jab" at which point he baited my goddamn pushblock and killed me. Fucker.

sf2feilong is a professional salt miner and probably the number one reason why people on ggpo abandon their bizarre adventures with Jojo so quickly. Don't let him get to you and try playing some other more helpful people. Fayk can probably namedrop some cool dudes. I haven't played for awhile so I'm not sure who's active these days but some people I used to play were jedpossum, matt_ca or something I forget his name (hella salty guy) and gamegeezer who's a million times better than me but a cool dude. There's also the german shin-god level players like toki and ATG that hang out who might be more helpful. I played ATG a long time ago and while he bodied me repeatedly he was always able to answer any question I had. I would play Jojo more but laggy Jojo makes me saltier than any fighting game ever made, because it's sooo good without lag...
