I could, but linking them is easier. Yes, the Draconis Combine is extremely Japanese--until you hit their enlisted ranks. And yes, those charts mean what you think: The Federated Suns is the only space-nation that does not give supreme control of the armies to its overall political leader. Edit: Also, someone better do a rundown of the Monitor-class vessels. Just don't divulge their weight, the Luthien Maru is a classy lady. That rank chart is totally wrong in several places. First of all, the rank "Marshal of the Armies" didn't even exist in 3025. Also, the General of the Armies is not equal to a Field Marshal (that's a General). And of course the First Prince DOES have absolute control of its military, ever since Alexander Davion invented the rank "Supreme Marshal of the Army of the Federated Suns" and added it to the title of First Prince. Delaying Action: Tactical Update 1 Enemy Forces / Next Turn’s Movement: Clan Assault Ran 6 to hex 0501 Clan Heavy A 1 Ran 8 to hex 0503 Clan Heavy A 2 Ran 8 to hex 0602 Clan Heavy B Ran 8 to hex 1505 Clan Medium Ran 8 to hex 1605 “It’s not the Varangian, sir,” his scouts radioed as their dusky jeep zipped past. “It’s that one again.” “Kisama,” Gunnbjorn hissed through his teeth in a way he knew his headset wouldn’t pick up. He knew precisely which ‘Mech his scouts referred: a massive, bulky unit painted a striking black and red which had been in every fight since Clan Widowmaker’s initial assault. Agaki blamed that ‘Mech for the slaughter of Hachi Batallion, it had outflanked them backed only by a single lance of 'Mechs. His troops had been thrown in disarray by the sudden attack from the rear, and hadn't realized until too late just how small the flanking force really was. That ‘Mech had dogged his retreat ever since; always seemed to know precisely what Agaki would do and have something in place to counter. “Kisama,” he roared into an open channel, “You will not find us so easy prey. You nip at our heels like wolves, well we of the 13th Rasalhague, Bane of the Lyrans, know how wolves should be put down! Come, kisama, come and die!” “I am Star Colonel Joshua,” The crackle of a response startled him; until now the Widowmakers’ advance had been silent. No honor challenges, no exclamations of anger or frustration, just terrifying brutality. “You have lost, Colonel, but I am not unmerciful: surrender your forces, and you will be allowed to live in peace, as members of the laborer caste.” “Colonel, the last time Rasalhague gave up; our great people were made the slaves of the Draconis Combine. If we are to be made slaves of another, we will make you pay hell for the privilege.” Agaki spat, then severed the connection. Interesting, only the 70 and 55 tonner have jump jets. That makes things a bit easier. I really like the layout on the Marauder and Thunderbolt, makes them a bit more suited to Guerrilla Warfare. It also makes the Marauder less likely to explode with the force of a Nuclear Bomb.

Ravernn, I suggest you read this to psych yourself up. BattleMechs are a Monument to the Glory of the Coordinator A guide to properly appreciating the gift that Lord Kurita has granted you. Greetings, bold Samurai of the Dragon. Today is the crowning moment of your existence, for the Coordinator has chosen to grant you a BattleMech carrying his own name. However, the Grand Dragon did not begin its existence the pinnacle of machinery you see today. Like many of the greatest warriors throughout history, the Dragon faced challenges, defeating them to make itself stronger. The Dragon was initially designed for sale to the SLDF. Their lack of foresight first became apparent when they declined this design in favor of a lesser machine, the Shadow Hawk upgrade project, and some historians would claim this was the first sign that the Star League was crumbling. Luthien Armor Works was not deterred, however, and began producing the design for the DCMS. So pleased was the Coordinator that the design was christened Dragon in his honor. At 60 tons and boasting formidable mobility, the Draconis Combine's signature design is one of the many reasons, such as our superior culture, lack of frivolous waste, the skill of our MechWarrior-Samurai, and not letting our women make decisions for us, that the Dragon endured and the Star League did not. Ten tons of armor, as impenetrable as the scales of a great wyrm, protect this design as it freely rampages across the battlefield at a speed of 86 kph, powered by a 300-rated Vlar fusion engine. The original DRG-1N was armed with an Imperator-A class 5 autocannon, Telos DecaCluster LRM rack, and a pair of Victory 23R medium lasers. Mounting only ten heat sinks, the Dragon was still a cool-running machine thank to the superior heat efficiency of Combine-manufactured weaponry. However, the Wisdom of the Dragon told us more could be done. Luthien Armor Works introduced the Grand Dragon to the cheers of our people and the terrified screams of our enemies. Replacing the Autocannon with a PPC, the DRG-1G also mounts two additional heat sinks and another medium laser, allowing it additional firepower and the heat sinks to dissipate it, making the design even more fearsome through the combination of missile and PPC fire at range giving way to laser barrages and devastating physical attacks as the Samurai closes on his foe with amazing speed. Some claim that the design is even ideal to mount the fearsome new Gauss rifle, claiming that removing the missile rack, PPC, additional heat sinks and a laser would free sufficient space for a powerful weapon such as this. Research is ongoing into this and any pilots modifying their equipment in a post-factory setting are advised to take care not to unbalance their machine. So go forth, Warriors of the Dragon, seek out your enemies and strike them down. You are the embodiment of the Pillar of Steel; give your Coordinator cause to take pride in your actions! (Previous entries not on the front page: Enforcer Excalibur Hollander Told you I'd do that eventually) Defiance Industries fucked around with this message at 01:44 on Sep 25, 2011 |

Very interesting map setup. It might be possible to inflict some significant damage on the lighter enemies before the big mechs can get through the heavy forest. Also, at 6/9/6 that medium might actually be another Nova. if so, I hope it kills you all with little mercy.

I have to agree with everyone that this is a really great scenario. Just don't get too excited about your prospects; Vehicles love to fold like houses of cards because of the mech-biased BattleTech rules, so even a force of heavily armored tanks is more like a set of glass cannons. Oh well, I hope this goonlance maximizes the use of cover. Good luck! And now that we've gotten that out of the way, it's TYPO TIME again, yaaaay~: Agaki blamed that ‘Mech for the slaughter of Hachi Batallion, it and single lance had outflanked them; I think that should be '...it and a single lance...', although several other additions are also possible to that sentence.
