Having to sit and watch my Yankees draft old slot OFs while I wait for my account to get accepted is p frustrating.

e: Toona, how does free agency work in this league? Will it ever tell you if you've made an offer the player prefers? I just tested it out by offering someone a 10/500 contract and it says they still prefer the Mariners. Without feedback, does that mean it's just a first-place sealed-bid auction?

You don't get feedback until I advance in the game and you download the updated file.

EDIT: I hope you didn't export with that offer. :v:

I just simmed the 2001 season in OOTP12 with the Oakland A's while running a 3-man rotation, which apparently will cause Hudson, Zito, and Mulder to transform into the father, the son, and the holy ghost. I was first of all shocked that none of their arms exploded when I forced them to start 50 games and pitch nearly 300 innings apiece, but I did not expect the season that ultimately transpired.

these three idiots are going to get so loving paid in a couple years (by a team that isn't me)

not listed, but equally ridiculous, are Hudson, Mulder, and Zito's WARs of 7.7, 7.4, and 5.9, respectively, which, if plugged into the actual 2001 season's stats, would place them first, second, and fourth (the real Mike Mussina had a 6.5 WAR that year [7.7 in the simmed season lolwhat]) on the AL pitcher WAR leaderboards

Aided by Jason "Baseball Jesus" Giambi, the fake A's went 97-66, defeating the Mariners in a 1-game playoff for the West before beating Minnesota in the ALDS and losing the ALCS to the Yankees in 7 games.

more comedy: Hudson and Mulder placed second and fourth on the AL pitcher WAR leaderboards for the simmed season because sim Andy Pettitte put up a 9.8 WAR out of loving nowhere :psyduck:

Gotta be honest, I'm not impressed with 20 wins out of 50 games.

How lovely was the rest of your team that they couldn't get a lead by the 6th inning and keep it?

Lots of relievers getting wins there, not cool.

the hitting outside of giambi, chavez, and tejada was, in a few words, serviceable but not great (vastly improved in 2002 by the addition of hee-seop choi)

that 97-66 record was actually underplaying their pythag by 7 wins, presumably because the 571 runs allowed by my pitching staff was the lowest in the AL by some 70 runs (the yankees were the only other team who allowed less than 700 runs), while the offense only scored 776 (8th in the AL)

One year, probably 2003 since he had just stolen 19, Dunn said in an interview that he hoped to steal 40 bases which generated a good bit of hype for him in fantasy circles.

Of course he didn't come through.

Also, is there any way to fix potentials in historical leagues? I don't know if this is a problem in OOTP12, but too many times I see potentials being lower than actual ratings when a player is imported, looking at various players in the editor.

Yeah I think I broke an error setting somewhere. Most of my other scores are coming out pretty close to normal though, so I'm not sure where it'd be.

edit: Welp, found it. I was messing around with some settings and hit "restore default" but apparently that doesn't reset the error ratings. The first half of the 2011 season will forever be known as the "Wet Ball Era" in my league.
