I want to listen to a band as slick and cool and dude as Karp, who is out there? It isn't the Melvins. If it isn't possible to be slicker cooler and duder than Karp then please ignore this post!

They all released primarily vocals tracks, but recorded many instrumentals as well. Most of this stuff (as far as I know) is vinyl only though.

So hear them (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yH5yH03Tlp4) Jared Warren from Karp has some notable post-projects that hit that sweetspot, notably Big Business (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oms30OlFeL0)and perhaps more notably and aptly named for your needs, Tight Bros From Way Back When (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aH6E8cRB5LI&feature=related)

I'm looking for happy music! I don't really care what it is, just whatever you personally find cheers you up or makes you feel good about whatever. I'm a big fan of upbeat electronic music but I've run out of stuff to listen to. Instrumental stuff is awesome. I've been needing to mellow out and try and improve my mood and I think this would help a lot.

I would love to hear some extremely chill music with clear Finnish vocals. Particularly female vocals, but male is fine. I'm imagining something like relaxed 80s electronic pop with better production, something dreamlike or spacey or heartfelt, but more than anything I just want Finnish vocals with clarity and a calm atmosphere. See, I'm kind of trying to start to learn Finnish and I think Finnish music would help. I know of and love Finnish metal, but right now I just want something sweet and calm.

Lau Nau and Islaja come to mind, maybe Paavoharju. Although I'm not sure how clear the vocals in these are, lots of folksy cooing.

I have just discovered Skrillex, and hoo boy... I want more! Problem is, people say he's dubstep, but I don't fancy much else people tend to stuff into that bag, and Spotify I feel isn't much help in finding more. I think what I really like about his stuff is the contrasts between chugging pounding choppy brutality and easygoing melodious cheerfulness. And the rythms and syncopation of course. The non-simplicity. I'm mostly a metal fan, if that helps. What can you guys recommend I stuff my ears full of?

Even if it has nothing to do with Arabic music I'm interested either in stuff that sounds similar to it or actual Arabic orchestral music as oppossed to just Oud like Hamza El Din. I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for but there's orchestras that do classical Arabic songs. Although set to a western orchestra, the usually retain a certain amount of the sound, for instance this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CftWk_C1J-s I don't know of any good source other than just going to youtube and typing in the name of songs with orchestral after it (ex. "ibn al balad orchestral" brings up a couple). Other than that sort of thing, the only thing I can think of that even sort of comes close to "Arabic orchestral" music would be the mehteran; it's Turkish and tends to use horns/percussion and not really any strings. Some examples Yinede Sahlaniyor Ceddin Deden Yelkenler Bichilecek I realise this probably doesn't help you much, but maybe can get you pointed in the right direction?

There are 2 types of music I'd like to find more of. The first one I'm looking for is some electro/synth/techno/whatever the term is now for when I'm bombing around in my little sports car. I want something with big drops, and the best adjective I can think of to describe what I'm looking for is 'pulsing.' I don't have a track to point to that I can say 'this is exactly what I want,' but I'll know it when I hear it. I also absolutely love Jazeboo (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ikFIivrun6s). I'm in love with this album, and I want as much of it as I can get. I looked up similar artists and found stuff like Rob White and Sacha Petulli, but it just isn't the same. Has anyone encountered anything that's a little more in line with this track? I've never wanted an artist to have more albums this badly before.
