Just like all of their celebrity endorsements and voice mails I am sure they are real. These dudes never make a joke based on a celebrity up. Note: I am only one episode 101 on my run through, so I am talking out my rear end.

Thanks for this thread. Started at episode 1 and have been loving the poo poo out of UYD for the last week at work. Amazing show.

The best thing about Ricky Gervais calling in is the week after when Jonathan is angry that no one mentioned it on their message boards. He clearly thought the boards were going to blow up and then it literally got like one mention. An odd connection, a friend they mention who's filming the show for them was Gervais' co-writer on 'This Side Of The Truth', so I'll assume that's how he's heard the show.

Lol at the argument on ep 89. 10 minutes in and Jah is making zero sense. This is way less awkward or angry than I expected.

But yeah what I meant is I assume Robinson introduced Gervais to the show. I just listened to a random episode that had Seth riffing on old school hip-hop and inexplicable laughter at the end of a line that had me cracking up. So, how truthful do you think Seth is? He claims ignorance to a lot of things which I assumed was him playing a character of sorts, but at the same time he's such a weird dude that some things wouldn't surprise me. About the argument. Doesn't the crutch of it become about adoption Vs actual parenting? I can see both sides of their argument. Seth's was that the greatest thing about raising a child is creating it, while Jonathan argued that it was bullshit. But saying that it's been a while since I've listened to it.

I think he knows a lot more about technology than he depicts. I mean with stuff like 'What Seth learned on the monster-web' he certainly isn't the most savvy person, but come on. Also, I love his vision of the future of living in "Albu-q" New Mexico right next door to Jonathan with families and their respective children growing up together. Uhh Yeah Dude is a wholesome show.

I think Seth is lying/being insincere about 100% of the time when he's playing dumb. It's one of the most endearing/maddening things about the whole goddamned show. Everything is a loving fakeout! I love it. No, I hate it. No, I love it and hate it no love it. I love it.

Seth recently read some Yelp.com reviews of McDonalds that were loving funny as poo poo. I wish they'd bring that back as a segment. But episode 268 has so many gems man, with Deep House Chopra. "Been on iTunes lately?? Let's have MORE Comedy Podcasts. What. the gently caress."

I think it was especially insensitive given the fact that Jonathan's older sister is from another father, but was essentially adopted by John and given his last name when he married her mother.

Just found this thread, it's great. I've been listening for a year now and it's the only podcast I can stand. I hate the guests and wacky radio show type poo poo on all the other ones I've heard. My 5 starred eps on iTunes: 42,48,74,75,76,77,78,79,80,81,82,83,84,86,87,89,91,94,101,116,117,119,120,121,122,123,124,125,126,127,232. Most of those are just Craiglists but some had some story that made me 5 star them. For example, in ep 42 at 45:15 Jah's rant about Christmas music and Seth doing the Charlie Brown music was hilarious. Episode 48: at 25 minutes Jah talks about watching scrambled porn because their parents didn't subscribe to the playboy channel. Seth watched a bootleg Mike Tyson fight that way. THIS IS CRAZY! Also a hilarious story of Seth talking about his lovely phone and ring tone. Then Seth goes off on Bindy Erwin. Great poo poo. Episode 232: 49:00 Seth is reading a list of stuff that people born in like 1994 will never experience or something. Sam Kinison has always been dead and "Caramel macchiato and Venti half caff vanilla latte have always been street corner lingo" Seth and Jah getting on that poo poo is loving hilarious. What's up hip cats. RustyTrombone posted:When Seth says 323 481 4422 after some awful sexual pun/general stupidness it makes me laugh every loving time. He never does it in the newer ones though. That loving killed me and I wish they still did it. Doing it in that 1930s switchboard operator voice.

Found these while browsing YouTube a few months back - UYD transcripts run through XtraNormal. The flat computer voices reading Seth and Jah's freeflowing conversations verbatim somehow makes them even funnier. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63VwbiA1tWs "It's definitely something. USA! USA! UYD! UYD! Best show. I got into it a few months ago and worked my way just past episode 100 or so, and then the last 10-15 current ones. I had some good text message exchanges with Jonathan about area codes (I've got an LA area code and I was talking poo poo on 818 and other areas where he's lived) - they seem so genuinely cool.

He then called me back on his personal line, so I don't think it is that big of a secret. In any case, I cannot imagine that they don't have a second line each that is an extremely secret number so no one can bother them.

I'm going through a second run-through of all the episodes (I'm up to 191) and a few weeks after Jonathan first started giving out his cell, Seth started saying that he could be found in the book. This went on for a while though he doesn't say it anymore and hasn't for a long time. And regarding doing a second run-through: I was surprised to learn that some people re-listen to the show from the beginning once they've caught up. The thought of listening to close to 300 hours of something the first time around is a bit daunting, but doing it twice? However, the show's so addictive and most other podcasts are so lacking in comparison, that I had no choice. I'm glad I did because 1) there's no way a person could remember every single conversation that's ever taken place on the show 2) it's not like you can't laugh at the same thing twice and 3) I've been laid off for a while (due to these oh so tough economic times) and I have a lot of free time on my hands. No way am I doing a third run-through though, so I'm going to have to go back to trying to convince myself that The Complete Guide to Everything and My Brother, My Brother and Me are satisfying alternatives to UYD.

Does anyone know what the outro music for episode 6 is? It sounds like it's made with samples from a fax machine or something and it's pretty fresh. It's not listed on the wiki.

Over the course of the summer I started listening to UYD from the beginning, and now I'm in the home stretch (around episode 270) and I'll be sad to have exhausted the backlog. Fortunately, my memory is awful and re-listening from the start is probably going to happen eventually. One thing that I've definitely forgotten is the history behind Jonathan attending that Sci-Ti school (was it a pre-school?). As far as I know his folks aren't members and it seems like a weird place to end up otherwise. If a genie told me he'd answer any 10 questions I had about anything anywhere, I'd be really tempted to blow one question learning what Seth does for a living.
