I seem to remember a mod that made it so you got the crouching aiming bonus while standing up and moving, so that you didn't have to sit in one place and just peg away at dudes. Anyone know of this? I tried searching for accuracy and aiming/aim on nexus but I got nothing really relevant.

"The world is a hellish place, and bad writing is destroying the quality of our suffering."
So, I got tired of these armor mods that added single sets of armors to the game via console or footlocker, especially since none of them were balanced with each other in mind. So I've been working on something I'd like to call The Low Profile Armor Mod v1.0 or LPAM for short. It's not the greatest thing in the world, but what it does is add six (currently) new armors to the game via script.

1. Wasteland Wanderer Armor, Reinforced
A darker version of the vanilla Wasteland Wanderer outfit, reinforced with some poo poo-kicking boots, extra utility pouches, and armor padding. It's more durable than regular Wasteland Wanderer Armor, but provides the same AGL +1 and END +1. You can find this sold by vendors, convicts, and experienced Wastelanders.

2. Merc "Bruiser" Outfit
A bulky sort of Merc-inspired outfit. It provides superior protection and durability to other Merc outfits, but is also heavier. Comes with a +5 bonus to Melee weapons. You can find this sold by vendors and on the backs of escaped convicts lurking around Primm.

3. Wasteland Seeker Armor (and Hood)
A sneaky-type outfit inspired by burlap sacks and NCR body armor. It'll give you the same bonus as a stealth suit, and decent DT (for somebody who prefers to keep their distance.) It's harder to find this armor, but it is occasionally sold on "rare armor" lists (the same ones that contain stealth suits) and on experienced wastelanders.

4. Highwayman Armor
Basically reinforced pants and a leather jacket. It provides less protection than leather armor, but doesn't weigh 15 pounds, either. Plus, it gives the same benefits as Merc armor (+2 Guns, +2 Melee) because it's just so comfortable. You can find this sold in vendors and on a lot of various NPCs, from thugs in Freeside to escorts, convicts, and commoners.

5. Gunslinger Outfit
A classic desperado-style cowboy outfit, complete with boots and bandoleers. It provides a modicum of protection but +6 to Guns. You can find this sold by vendors, the escaped convicts lurking around Primm, and caravan escorts.

6. Slaughterarmor
Power armor the Fiends salvaged from a Vault. The seals wore out a long time ago, but you'll hardly notice the lack of radiation resistance with your +2 to STR and +8 to Melee Damage (and -2 to agility...all of those improvisations are heavy.) You can only find this on higher-level Fiends.

As you can see, most of the armors are modest and intended to broaden the variety of things you'll see people walking around in. I intend to add more armors to the pack later on, especially porting over FO3 stuff that the NV community hasn't gotten yet.

Credits are in the readme. Obviously most credit goes to the people that made this stuff--I more or less cobbled everything together and rebalanced it so that you weren't presented with mint condition god-armors in inconspicuous locations. Also, I didn't realize that the Primm convicts have access to the same "mercenary" leveled lists as the Caravan escorts. This means their choice of outfits is a little broader than I anticipated. Nothing particularly ridiculous or OP, though, plus you won't have a bunch of dudes wearing the same four outfits.

Also no dumb anime bikini armor or crap like this. I've got a pretty big collection of over 2 gigs by now. Well, I didn't do any of these armors either, I wouldn't know how. I try to give credit where credit is due but seeing that most armors are some ripped off commercial assets, or "frankensteined" from vanilla NV/FO3 it doesn't really matter. I think the whole mock-copyright/credits clusterfuck going on at the Nexus is a pretty big joke anyways. IMHO It's all a part of the modern trend to be wanting to get congratulated for every fart you do, but that's a whole different story.

I couldn't answer the question where I found them all if I tried, some are nexus, some are FO3U and some are some russian modding sites which sometimes have original content from god knows where. I'm at around 120 armors entered into the .esp now, and quite a bunch of armors that already sit in their appropiate folders (I went through lots like Naky to sort all the armors and their textures in easy to manage folders) but still need an .esp entry. I also made an open office calc file to get an overview of the stats in comparsion to vanilla armors. Most armors just need to be entered into the .esp, as armor entry, which is pretty easy to do if a bit boring. I'm not above to explain what needs to be done in detail though. If you ever feel like it, you can hit me up in aforementioned channel and we can talk about it, if not no biggie. :)

Holy poo poo, thanks. This could make things easier for future shenanigans :toot:

Speaking of shenanigans, here's something I hacked together. I combined the flare gun from Lonesome Road with the illumating flare ammo type from the Light My Flare mod:

I was having a hell of a time with the hand thrown road flares making my equipped weapon tiny/disappear, and I wasn't too happy with how the flares didn't actually emit any light, so :science:

Also, does anyone have a total beginner's guide to Blender? I've changed my leather riot armor to not use the riot armor underplate in favor of a simple shirt, make it less damage resistant or whatever, but the source mesh I used has rather large breasts. Like, clip through my jacket large :sonia: If I could just tone down the curvature slightly, it'd be fine.

Turns out Nifskope has a scale vertices options. I tried it on a whim, not knowing what end was what:

It is by no means precision altering, but poo poo close enough for me. I might have a go at scaling the riot armor mesh under the jacket to not clip tomorrow :v:

Is there such a thing as a mod that removes all the inside gates from the New Vegas strip that isn't riddled with a bunch of mysterious bugs? Among the handful I found on the Nexus there were complaints of things ranging from NPCs not spawning to NPCs disappearing in the middle of the street where the gates used to be to companions spazzing out and running the full length of the strip for no reason whenever you go there. I'd experiment but my internet is running just like poo poo right now and there are apparently a few that do utterly stupid poo poo like throwing the whole of the Sierra Madre on the strip for literally no reason.

Was there a mod that places the Courier's Stash items in-game at appropriate spots around Goodsprings instead of dumping them on you at character creation? It was mentioned but I don't remember if it exists or someone brought it up as an idea. I know there's one that puts them into the leveled lists but that seems like kind of a waste to me since about 90% of them are only mildly different from items low-level enemies can already spawn with.

As far as I've been able to tell, he's already done most of the hard work involved, he just got lazy with the easy part and simply hasn't finished it. If you finish it, we'd finally have a pretty nice SA-only all-in-one type armor collection mod like The Armory. Of course, as he alluded to, it'd also be a clusterfuck of credits and permissions despite haphazardly stolen commercial poo poo thrown in here and there so this wouldn't exactly be a Nexus mod, but I'm sure Magic wouldn't mind hosting an armor collection either.

There's the Unified Backpack Mod in the OP. It seems to edit NPCs directly by adding leveled lists, so I have some concerns about its compatibility with other mods, though. Seems like scripts adding directly to the leveled lists would be better.

With it, NCR, Legion, and Fiends always have at least one backpack in a group, usually more.

Though its hard to find fannypacks other than Legion.

Edit: This isn't to say that I have run into problems with it. The mod works quite well.
