Retrograde posted:Awesome! I forget if the next update is including DLC weaspon or not but i'll definitely take GRA ammo! Yup. Next update pretty much includes everything put in the game by the DLCs. Guns, ammo types, throwable explosives/weapons, drinks, crafting recipes, and even some decor that appears once you finish the DLCs. The Vanilla station also has some significant updates, though many of them are in the background as a foundation for future updates. The only thing that I've left out is decor added by OWB, and that's because I want to link the station to The Sink so that you can easily go between the two, but I'm still not positive how I want to do it so I'm leaving that for the future. Could you humor me and install the mod and see if you can start a new game? If anybody else has tried out LPAM, is it causing your game to hang? Of course, as he alluded to, it'd also be a clusterfuck of credits and permissions despite haphazardly stolen commercial poo poo thrown in here and there so this wouldn't exactly be a Nexus mod, but I'm sure Magic wouldn't mind hosting an armor collection either. If Fewd's problem with LPAM is isolated, I might try to tackle PA's armor compilation.

I've updated LPAM to V1.1. The following three armors have been added: 7. Raider Metal Armor A somewhat lighter version of Metal Armor that gives +5 to melee damage (alongside the usual -1 AGL.) You can find this on Fiends as well as gang leaders. 8. Caravan Combat Armor A leather outfit reinforced with combat armor pieces, well-suited for long treks with its +1 END boost. Considered a "poor man's" version of Combat Armor, it can (occasionally) be found in Vendor lists and on a variety of convicts and caravan escorts. 9. NCR "Skiptracer" Armor An outfit occasionally worn by NCR Rangers designated as hitmen and bounty hunters. It provides the same +5 Guns and +1 CHR as regular dusters, but can be repaired with wasteland clothing. In addition, I've cleaned up the scripts a bit since I'm still learning which NPCs have access to what. The Reinforced Wasteland Wanderer's outfit is pretty much exclusively for neutral parties and I don't think bandits / convicts will be wearing it. Also, I've added the Wasteland Seeker hood to several headgear lists, so you might occasionally see somebody rocking a burlap headpiece. It looks sort of cool. The intention with adding the "Skiptracer" armor to certain NCR lists was primarily to get it on NCR Hitsquads. I expect you to find it on the occasional Ranger veteran, as well. As usual, let me know if you have any problems!

Yeah dude, you need to make this into the end-all be-all Goon armor pack. I can help if needed. In particular, that Legion Power armor needs to go on some of the Legion troopers. Those armors are sweet looking - are they mesh hack jobs/recolors?

Gyshall posted:Yeah dude, you need to make this into the end-all be-all Goon armor pack. I can help if needed. For the most part, the armors are rips from FO3 mods. All model and texture credit goes to the people that made them; my job was writing the scripts, leveled lists, object effects, and adding the armor pieces into NV. It's pretty easy if occasionally tedious. I have no experience with programs like nifskope, whatsoever. I've actually turned down a lot of material because I can't find a good place to put it. My biggest concern right now is avoiding bloat, or adding armors simply to have more armors, especially if they look terrible next to each other. I'm hoping to get a good 15-18 armors into the game through LPAM, though. That being said, I've got my evil eye on the Legion Power armor, next.

Steam has started to redownload NV in full every few days. I'm guessing this is related to mods messing with the steam directories. Any idea what in particular might be causing this and how to prevent it? (Sometimes I can play while it's "updating" sometimes I can't, plus its seriously clogging up my bandwidth). Plus regarding armor suggestions, I've posted this before but I think this Brotherhood Armor (fairly true to the brotherhood combat armor from the originals) might be a good fit. It also already outifits all brotherhood members wearing the recon armor with this armor. EDIT: Although, comparing it directly to the vanilla reinforced combat armor, it's not actually all that different. Rinkles fucked around with this message at 22:44 on Oct 7, 2011 |

I just finished uploading LPAM V1.2 with the following additions: 10. Pre-War Surplus Helmet These Surplus Helmets are issued to NCR Troopers when better equipment can't be obtained. Can be found in common Vendors' lists and on the heads of NCR Troopers and Boomers. 11. Snake Eater's Garb An outfit perfectly adapted for the survivalist in all of us. Plenty of pouches for that +5 SURVIVAL, plus the +10 POISON RESISTANCE isn't bad either. Can be found on Wastelanders, Prospectors, and roving bandits, but isn't sold by vendors because of that Nightstalker-stink. 14. Sand Strider's Mask Combine a bandana, a motorcycle helmet, and some black paint, and you get something that is both discreet AND durable. Sold by common vendors and worn by Wastelanders. 12. Pre-War Gas Mask A typical gas mask, perfect for filtering out dust and homemade mustard gas. Provides +10 RAD and +15 POISON RESISTANCES, but -1 to PER. Can be found in common Vendors' lists, on NCR Troopers, Wastelanders, and Boomers. 13. Legion Power Armor (and Helmet) One of Caesar's technological concessions, similar in many regards to ordinary Power Armor...except with that typical Legion flare. Additionally, the helmet doesn't provide RAD protection like its regular counterpart. Not sold anywhere. You'll have to peel the Centurion out of it if you want your own. I promise I'll take longer to release another update, so you guys don't have to keep downloading progressively larger files! This is about where I wanted to really launch the mod, but I had no self-control with the previous two versions. Bug reports are appreciated. I seriously anticipate some sort of problem, like muffling a conversation when the mod decides to put a gas mask on a quest-giving NPC or something. Kind of funny when I think about it. Gyshall posted:That looks sweet. Are you leaving the original plugin in or adding it purely via script (ie. you have to find it) I don't leave the original plugins in, mainly to avoid possible conflicts with the original mods and anything else you might be using. Pure script and a new leveled list to ensure the Centurions receive both a Helmet AND the Power Armor. Actually, most of the armor is statistically different than the sources I got them from (for better or worse.) You have to buy / kill your way to the armors the mod adds. Thanks for the suggestions, everybody. I'll start checking these links out and see what I can do with them. Cream-of-Plenty fucked around with this message at 01:09 on Oct 8, 2011 |

Ok so I guess I have two more questions to add onto the other one I already posted. What would cause my ironsights to be abnormally zoomed in, and how can I get it so that if I click Play New Vegas in steam, it will launch through the FNV4GB loader? If I rename the FNV4GB loader to FalloutNV, it says "Cannot name this FalloutNV" and goes back to destop, but I had it working perfectly before I validate my files. Also whenever I run the validation it always says "2 files failed to validate and will be reacquired", no matter what I do. Brace fucked around with this message at 01:17 on Oct 8, 2011 |
