I prefer Jay's Frank Gifford instead. PUT THAT ON MY TAB.

That whole bit is just incredible, even across several episodes as they deconstruct it further.

The latest episode of The Indoor Kids is hilarious. There's like 30 minutes of Starcraft talk, which I didn't understand. Then around the 40 minute mark, a really awkward husband-wife conversation (or non-conversation) comes out of nowhere, and it's amazing.

I listened to this last night and that part was really really funny. Kumail couldn't even back pedal on that one.

Yeah, that was pretty great. I was on the 3rd episode catching up but I skipped ahead to hear the awkwardness. I wasn't a big fan of Duncan Tressel Starcraft chat, though, and I'm not interested in hearing another discussion on sex vs violence in videogames. Other than that I've really been enjoying this podcast.

I have to disagree with the praise for the latest episode of Indoor Kids. The guest was an enormous douche and the gushing Starcraft fanboyism was loving unbearable ("Starcraft is the only real game, everything else is for babies.") Then he went into his "whoa look at how deep I am" stoner theories at the end that I turned the episode off. Huge disappointment after the great Tom Lennon and Paul Scheer episodes.

Yeah, that dude was pretty annoying the whole time. Like I said, I'm starting from the beginning so I was hoping this was an outlier rather than a general decline in quality.

Yes the Starcraft talk was pretty lame and the episode was fairly weak (the sudden BJ part was the one shining moment), but don't let that detour you from listening to the all of the other episodes. Once the meme girl leaves a few episodes in and Kumail's wife comes on as the co-host they have all been pretty good.

There's being a huge fan of something, then there's making GBS threads on anything that isn't Your Favorite Thing. You'd think this was the second coming of Christ by his description.

Does it really take a cocking month to understand what's going on in Starcraft? That's beyond excessive.

I like this idea, Comedy Film Nerds is my favorite movie podcast but I don't see there being enough discussion about just that show to support a separate thread. A thread for this and other movie related shows like How did this get made, We Hate Movies and all the others I see brought up often would give a place for more specific discussion that wouldn't get drowned out so quickly.

Extremely Not Bad
Oh, so goons do know about The F Plus! :neckbeard:

Hi folks, I'm one of the readers on The F Plus (Isfahan) and a couple of weeks ago we did our second annual F Plus Live reading in Minneapolis. It was the podcast's second live event, but it was my first, as logistics and money considerations prevented me from flying out in 2010. Anyway, it was an amazingly fun weekend, and during one of many conversations over alcohol, unhealthily delicious burgers*, and Rock Band, it was mentioned that the podcast has had some exposure on SA. I finally got around to having a look!

Actually, re: F Plus Live, the audio from the event is available on the website now! This year's theme was terrible self-help books, and there wasn't a single disappointing entry in the bunch, if you ask me. Set aside some time (it's much longer than a normal episode) and go listen!

Earlier in the thread the Earwolf Challenge was mentioned along with our involvement with it. Being "just" a reader, I wasn't exposed too much to the behind-the-scenes stuff, but I listened to every bit of feedback the judges had for us across the submissions and I know Lemon and John did too. We came away from the challenge with some good tips, although at times the methodology behind deciding who stayed and who went was a bit of a head-scratcher.

King Lou (hi Lou!) mentioned he didn't get picked for the competition, but frankly, in retrospect, I don't know how we got picked for the competition, because our format was rather different from any of the other competitors and much closer to what Lou does. Chalk it up to personal perspective, but for me it felt like we were doing something completely different from the other podcasts. I'd say more on that, because I have capital-O Opinions about it, but that's enough for now.

If people have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them if I can.
