Are most jailbreakers going the iCloud route for backups or is it best to still use the computer backup?

I'm trying to jailbreak an iPhone 4S using redsn0w 0.9.9b4 for Windows, and after I put it into DFU mode, it just pops up with "unexpected error". I'm not really sure how to get around this, and Googling doesn't have any answers.

I don't believe you can jailbreak the 4S yet? Because holy xrap that's awesome if you already can.

Oh, I could've sworn that the jailbreakmatrix had 4S listed, but apparently it doesn't. Bollocks. There are a thousand cool things about iOS 5, but it still doesn't have SBSettings

I can't wait for a Siri-enabled SBSettings so you adjust the phone's settings using your voice. "Siri, adjust brightness to 50%" "Siri? kill all apps" I mean, Siri already offers to help you get rid of a body.

Trying to update my ipad 1 to Ios 5. Keep getting 3002 error, which means apple servers are getting hammered. Is this the case or do I need to edit my hosts file?

How do you set this up? Add http://cydia.pwndevteam.com/ Install. Go to settings>notifications and add it to the visible ones, arranged as you like. To add favorite apps, tap the wrench/"settings" icon and then the star in that section. (tap the bars to change service provider name). So far I don't see a way to add toggles (miss the quick notepad and autolock toggle), and I kept SBS to hide icons, just removed it from the notifications and swipe in. Spotlight still finds hidden apps FYI.

I would imagine that they're holding off a potential iOS 5 jailbreak until everyone gets the iTunes Match update at the end of the month, right? I absolutely cannot stand the standard lockscreen. Why would Apple not want the notification center to show instead of this useless screen!

I can't understand at all what the deal is with the lock screen. I love notification center (it has some quirks but I can live with it) but the lock screen is still pointless.

Is this because you don't have your SHSH backed up? I was in the same boat yesterday until I used iFaith to backup my SHSH for my current firmware (4.3.3). I haven't had to use it yet, but it seemed to do its job of backing it up.

They haven't discovered a bootloader exploit for A5 processors yet, which is basically what everyone means when they say it can't be jailbroken. For all intents and purposes, anyone buying an iPad 2 today can't jailbreak it.
