http://albuquerque.craigslist.org/mcy/2630678813.html This is a great deal on a SV650S as long as the polished wheels and custom paint aren't gaudy as all hell. Which means they probably are.

http://jacksonville.craigslist.org/mcy/2631141103.html I know these things aren't very available or have a big following in the states, but would this be worth looking at? Maybe to resell the titled one and part the other out? edit: Didn't see that they were both titled. I also can't find any hint of the value of these things AncientTV fucked around with this message at 04:48 on Oct 5, 2011 |

Thoughts on this as a project bike? I already have an 09 Versys, but I'm craving something a little faster, and I'd like some wrenching experience. This seems like a good start if it really just needed a fuel line when it sat, though I know there's no way to confirm that without working on it, and additional requirements have probably racked up like carbs, etc. Does anyone know anything about the model? I'm unfamiliar with it. Also, does anyone know anything about transferring a title across different states? I'm in PA. http://reading.craigslist.org/mcy/2632229354.html Craigslist Dude posted:I have a 1994 Suzuki RF600R complete bike for sale. Probably best for parts. I completely forgot to get the keys from the prior owner, no longer have a way to contact them. The bike is complete, has been sitting outside for about a year now. I do have the signed/notarized title ready to go. I was told all the bike needed was a fuel line, when it was parked about a year ago. I have not gone over it, and do not know anything about it other than what I was told about the fuel line. I am selling it "as is" . Bike is probably best for parts. Asking $300 cash. I say as a first project you could do worse. Show up, offer $200, walk if he doesn't take it. Worst case you're out $200, best case you have a running bike for $500 or less. Probably needs tires, chain, oil/coolant/brake fluid changed, and definitely needs the carbs cleaned. You can't pop the tank which is kind of a pain in the rear end because that's another dealbreaker, if the tank is toast. Those bikes aren't bad, they're about equivalent to the ZX6E. Think of it as a heavy, early 90s FZ6 and you've about got the gist of it.

Unfortunately (I've just found out), the title wasn't transferred properly by the PO, and he has no way to hunt the guy down. I'm not sure if I want to get into that sort of mess.

Any single one of those things wouldn't have necessarily been a deal breaker, but all together on a relatively uncommon bike from the 90s, it's just not worth it. Jack Black posted:I see the ad is still up for these, did you make the guy an offer or go see the bikes? Let me know, cuz if you aren't buying them I likely will. I went and looked at them, but they aren't for me. While the running one is indeed running, it wasn't in as good condition as I was hoping. The tires are 10 years old, the paint is bubbling with rust in a few places, the front caliper probably needs a rebuild, and the fuel gauge doesn't work. As for the non running one, you'd need to source new carb boots and clean out the carbs (sitting for a few years), refresh the tires, chain, sprockets, brake fluid, and oil, put in a new battery, and rebuild the front caliper. I think that's it, I didn't bother writing anything down, because I knew I wasn't going to buy them. So it's definitely still a good deal, but I would have bought them to resell them, and I wouldn't have made enough to warrant the purchase. If I were buying them to keep, hell yeah I would've picked them up.

Bank owns the bike, dude got ripped off, and the only way to get it back "legally" would be to take possession of it, keep it and load up storage fees until it was more worthwhile for the bank to release it to you. That's the good option. The bad option is that it's stolen.

http://cedarrapids.craigslist.org/mcy/2631851138.html This thing would be kind of neat if you had a Yamaha to show off your bike I guess but I'm not sure what else you'd use it for. Not really very practical for working on the bike because you can get a lift for that and I'm not sure how you'd easily get the bike up on that. Something different so figured I'd post.
