I don't think tumblr will be the only thing that will implode tomorrow. I'm sure the explosion that will be several thousand computers trying to access the server the EoA flash is on will be seen from space! This puts me in a kind of dilemma. On one hand I know that the flash will be put online after work for me so I'll be able to watch it when I get home. On the other hand will his web host cope? Edit: oh for crying out loud! Top of the page again?!

Nobody cares if you are at the top of the page. There is nobody. Zero people. The notion that we should care does not even enter our minds until you self-consciously call yourself out, so you, too, should stop caring.

Man, it's time for the EoA flash already? I knew I should have reread Homestuck earlier. Oh well too late now! The thing I want to see happen the most is a Lord English reveal. What's his deal, anyway?

But anyway, about EoA5: I don't care what we get, but I want some fights. fast paced troll/human/dog/puppet punching to the face. Especially Terezi, because for some reason I want to see her fight while blind. I hope the entire flash ends with John scratching the Beat Mesa, kind of like how [S] Enter built up to John entering the first Gate.

I have pretty much no doubt we're getting to 100 + pages tomorrow. It is going to be catastrophic. Some of you seem to have an idea of around what time the flash is going to be posted - how do you know? Is this based off the assumption that he's going to release it around 10:25 or is there something else I don't know about? Edited to add: I realize I'm asking a lot of questions in this thread. I read through the entirety of Homestuck during the beginning of the hiatus, so this is a very exciting time for me. I have known nothing but bitter Homestuck famine. That said, as a new reader, I'm very surprised that so many people say things like "the beginning is boring and confusing but it gets better" to new readers. The beginning was awesome! I probably never would have bothered with it if it weren't for all the adventure game/growing-up-on-the-internet jokes, and probably never would have been able to convince anyone else to read it either. I guess nowadays people mostly get into it for the trolls and weird plot poo poo though? Anyway, I too am mostly looking forward to Lord English being revealed (hopefully). Though after the fanart thread, I'm worried nothing will make me happy now that I've him as Mr Resetti.

When I first saw this on MSPA's front page, I thought "Oh great, the porn comics are now customizing their ads for Homestuck." However, clicking it just takes you to the MSPA homepage. Someone made a fake porn ad to put on the homepage that links to the same page?

What if he put up the flash as a torrent until he can work out hosting? It wouldn't take that long to gain a fuckton of seeders from the fan community, within an hour or so of him starting to seed it you could download that thing in like a few minutes.

If there was any sort of interactive portion of it, Youtube wouldn't be an option at all. Hussie should definitely throw the .swf file in a torrent, and he could also put it up on Rapidshare and Mediafire, and all the other file hosting services. Is he assuming not everyone knows you can drag a flash file into a browser window and play it that way?

If you're trying to sell it as a rollercoaster of drama and winding plot twists, the opening goes out of its way to make it look like you're trying to joke someone and waste their time. I went into Homestuck knowing nothing but "hey there's this webcomic and it is kind of like Earthbound" and was sucked in immediately after the piano refrain and title flash.

As others have proposed, not wanting to make a video implies there's some amount of interactivity -- though not necessarily a walk-around. I think we might be in for fourth-wall breaking shenanigans (natch) that require the flash to play on the actual MSPA site (or simulacrum thereof) for full effect. Hence the resistance to off-site hosting. Also re: Newgrounds, I think they cap file-sizes, and this one might be too big. Unrelated and completely insincere speculation: the flash reveals Lord English by hijacking your browser, grabbing your profile picture from Facebook, and inserting you into the Cairo Overcoat.
