Is there a quick/simple way to make Sickbeard/SABnzbd NOT download or process anything between a certain time? They're both set to launch when windows starts but I'd rather not have anything being processed if I'm just quickly checking email and news while I get ready for work and will be shutting down after 20 minutes.

SAB has a scheduler that will pause and unpause during certain times. Not sure why you care if sickbeard is running or not, all it does is pass nzb url's to SAB. Shouldn't take up any resources.

Will check out the scheduler, I'll try making a rule to pause at 7am and resume at 9am and see if that works.

I was thinking of a utility that'd be super handy today- Does something exist that scans your media library and Netflix's streaming library then provide a list of things you have that you can delete because they're already on Netflix? Seems like that'd be a really radical addition to both Sickbeard and Couchpotato if you could add Netflix's streaming catalog as another search destination. I mean, if I can stream something in HD off Netflix, there's not much reason to be hogging up drive space keeping a copy locally that I can think of.

Can't believe I've been using torrents all this time.. Always knew about usenet but didn't realize block accounts existed or how slick the process had gotten. Bought a blocknews account and I'm setting up sickbeard now. Great OP. With Canada really cracking down on piracy (especially torrenting) in the new year I can see a lot of people looking into this. Love seeing my connection max out (ISP was throttling torrent traffic).

Is there a way to prioritize one backup server over another in SABnzbd? If there are two backup servers designated, how does it determine which one to try first?

Are there any plans to support user/pass authentication for nzb file association, or to bypass it? If you have a username/password set up for sabnzbd and you disable the API key, nzb file associations are broken. Running an nzb just gives the error: 2011-10-25 18:44:58,805 WARNING: Authentication missing, please enter username/password from Config->General into your 3rd party program: I hate typing api key so I disabled it, I'd like to keep it off, but if I lose file associations, it's sort of a no go.

I've been backfilling from 1,000 days ago with no problems. They used to be hit and miss, but recent experience has been pretty great.

I feel like I must be missing something obvious here. Is there no button in SABnzbd that lets you open the folder your files are being downloaded to? Or a way to launch the file you've downloaded? It seems like I just have to browse to it manually through Windows Explorer, seems disconnected.

Unless you set up some script to automatically open the directory upon completion.

It's a web client and can be accessed over a network or the Internet, so it would have to know where you are accessing it from and what OS you are using. But perhaps such a feature could be added (with a flag) that would assume you are using it locally, and provide a link to open explorer (or whatever)?

Quick SickBeard question: I have SickBeard set up and working on my Asus RT-16n router (TomatoUSB firmware) which is pretty friggin' great. However, when I try to set it to listen on all interfaces (web_host = 0.0.0.0) it just ignores this and switches back to 192.168.1.1 only. Any ideas anyone? edit: OK I'm retarded... config file wasn't saving for some reason works now! Softcox fucked around with this message at 09:18 on Oct 27, 2011 |

Not sure if many are still using newzbin but if you are you might want to find something else. http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/27/uk-court-orders-isp-to-block-newzbin-2-filesharing-site-within-t/ quote:Pirates just can't catch a break these days. Way back in July, a British judge ordered telecom company BT to block its subscribers from visiting a site called Newzbin 2, on the grounds that the ISP had "actual knowledge" of customers using the platform access copyright infringing content. An appeal was soon filed, but yesterday, it was shot down by a high court. Under the order, BT will have 14 days to seal off access to Newzbin 2, and will have to do so on its own dime -- something the provider was aiming to avoid. The decision marks the first time that an ISP has been forced to block access to a filesharing site, something the Motion Picture Association heralded as "a win for the creative sector." BT, meanwhile, didn't have much to say about the ruling, stating only that "it is helpful to have the order now and the clarity that it brings." Less certain, however, is the impact this order will have on future copyright lawsuits and web censorship, in general. Find the ruling in its entirety at the coverage link, below.

I just assumed you could do something with one of those. pyTivo isn't exactly widely used compared to the other options. You'll have to write a script to transform an XBMC nfo file into pyTivo's format, or convince pyTivo devs to stop using their own silly metadata format.
