My guess is you'd have to port the actual armor over in GECK along with copying the mesh and textures over. Oh, also, I've been working seven days a week between my horrible regular job and the haunted house, but since that lets out this weekend I may finally be finding free time again. I'll try and get Old World Blues underway ASAP and apologize to anyone who's been waiting for it.

Does anyone know what happend to that one armor mod that was entitled "Wasteland Warrior" or something to that effect? It was a leather + fur armor and in game it was found on a ghoul that hung around the Yangtze Memorial. I've scoured the nexus but just can't find it.

If you transfer the relevant textures and meshes over to your NV install, you can open up the GECK, create a relevant texture set for each of the armors (this can be time consuming) then create entries for each of them and place them in game. I've been spending the past week or so importing all the stuff from FOOK FO3 over to my NV install, and though I'm not doing a very good job of it, I can verify that it's not only possible but not very difficult either. The trick is just finding the relevant files in your FO3 install. edit: You can do the same for any armor mod, FO3 mod included. Just put the assets in the NV folder and add them in manually with the GECK.

Hey Cream of Plenty, which mod does the Slaughterarmor come from in LPAM? I like this armor but I installed the Readius mod recently since it's a prereq for that spice of life mod and apparently the readius does not like that armor cuz a gigantic black chunk clips through it. I just wanted to see if anyone else noticed it and if the mod author provided a fix on his main page.

I've actually been using both for a long time since pretty much every user created piece of armor requires one or the other. I am liking it after my short time playing, I just saw the first couple of pieces of custom armor to appear since I activated it and most of it fits the game world really well. This is one of those "man it'd be cool to put my hometown in this game" things that almost every modder has at some point. Except this one actually got finished and has voice acting and custom music and a questline, etc, etc.. I don't know if it's actually good or anything yet, but I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt considering the amount of time put into it.

Currently working for some rich, verbose rear end in a top hat who wants to level a defunct electricity pylon that's spoiling his cliffside view of Dinky the Dinosaur. Scouring every merchant in the Mojave has failed to yield the final Egg timer component for a potent nano-bomb, though; although it has provided for almost all the upgrades that the .22 pistol can hold and schematics for some custom ammo. Rocking the One Hander and Night Person traits, and Friend of the Night perk, which, whilst chosen for thematic reasons, has proven surprisingly annoyance-reducing in unexpectedly dimly lit areas like McCarran's terminal. Going for any cleaner/hitman, sneaky, Ghoul-related or radiation resistance/absorbing perks I can suck up whilst undertaking the shadier missions or ways of completing quests - such as busting in to Helios One to manufacture and pilfer a nano-cartridge. Good times. * .22 round through the head whilst sleeping.

So I spent some time playing Alton. Initial impressions are that it's fairly well done for a mod produced by a kid still in high school. That said, the writing is clunky, the voice acting is pretty cringe inducing, and there are more than a few bugs involving keys and quests. I'm probably going to play through it for novelty sake but I don't recommend going out of your way to reinstall F3 just to play it. If it gets significantly better as I go through it I'll post again.

Barring a major hard drive failure, I'm going to say that the Pip-Boy Item Descriptions mod I talked about a couple months ago is 75% done. I used a tool from the Fallout 3 Nexus that modifies the textures that appear in the inventory screen, updated it with New Vegas texture definitions, and wrote some snarky Fallouty text for every single one. Now, I need a way to add all these textures to the game and have them override the existing textures without modifying item definitions in the GECK in a way that causes mod incompatibilities. Main issue I face is adding all those unique descriptions to unique weapons that use the same icon as their mundane counterparts. As it is, copying all the loose files and calling it a day will result in the Ratslayer having the same description as the Varmint Rifle, Gobi having the same text as the Sniper Rifle, etc. How do I replace the textures without causing mod conflicts?? Also, if someone could provide me with an application of the command-line dir tool or some other way to dump all the files in a directory to a text file, that would be patently awesome and allow me to start on the add-on DLCs.

There was a mod that allowed you to I think pistol-whip people and subdue them or whatever- Reactive People, I think it was called. I had it installed at one time but I don't think I ever bothered to memorize/configure the hotkeys so I never used it. It's probably still on the Nexus, and I think it's the closest thing to what you're looking for. Also to anyone looking to use the Gravedigger mod, it hasn't been updated in ages and there is a bug with the recent patches that makes it pretty much unplayable. Corpses can't actually be buried (they stay on top of the grave and are permanently havok-attached to the grave marker) and placing a corpse in your inventory will crash the game.

Make sure NVSE is updated to the newest version. Install BOSS and FNVedit. Open mod manager and do a boss autosort. Close FOMM. Open FNVedit. Read the chapter on creating a merged patch from here: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=38413. Create a merged patch. This will result in a crash free experience 99% of the time. Also if you are using texture improvement packs, download and install the 3GB+ enabler. Anyone know why this would be happening? The scopes are crooked and cocked to the left instead of straight. Only for the scope that goes on the medicine stick--think its the lever-carbine scope. I use Arsenovalis and WMX if those have known interactions. Also the weapon pose and animation replacements... called New Vegas Re-animated iirc. Those are the only ones that I can think of that might be making this happen. hairrorist fucked around with this message at 05:02 on Oct 31, 2011 |

Those are the only ones that I can think of that might be making this happen. Hmmm...a scope off to the side rather than dead-center of the gun? In the case of this particular gun I think it's two-fold: 1) how the spent bullet cartridges get ejected from the gun. If that happens to be from the top of the gun, where a scope would normally go, having it moved to the side might help. 2) WMX might be causing this. Since you do talk about the Medicine Stick - a unique lever-action carbine with GRA - it may be that WMX has added a different sort of scope as a mod than you were expecting. I'm not entirely clear on what you mean beyond this, however. Do you find the fact that the scope is mounted off to one side of the gun rather than dead-center? Or do you mean the scope is not actually pointing straight along the barrel of the gun like it should? You might want to include a third-person screenshot so we can make a little more sense of it. For now, I'd think about checking your WMX DLC patches, just in case you have an out-of-date version.

That may just be the way the model is set up. Old rifles like lever actions often had offset scopes due to the rifle ejecting spent brass straight up and either to the side or the rear and there's some pretty solid gun nerding going on in the game, so this was probably taken into account.
