Do you have a USB microphone, a Macbook, and the audacity to think that people want to hear what you have to say? Here's your chance. This thread is for two kinds of people: 1). Those of you who make podcasts of your own, and would like to tell the RGD community about them. 2). Those of you who are interested in finding podcasts created by fellow goons. There are already some great resources for this, including the Gooncasts Wiki, and the "Who else podcasts?" thread in Creative Convention. This is a supplement to those sites. Here, you can tell us about your show, notify us when new episodes are available, and have discussions about podcasting and getting the word out. Any kind of show can live here: Comedy, informational, gaming, etc. When you're telling us about the show you make, please provide the following information: The show's name The show's website URL iTunes URL or RSS URL The show's genre Release schedule (weekly? monthly?) A brief description of what your show's all about Here are some general rules: 1). Don't Be an rear end in a top hat: Criticism is often desperately needed, but there's a wrong way to go about it. Don't be antagonistic. Instead, be as constructive as possible. 2). Please have content for your posts: This is a place where you can say "Hey, the new episode is up!," but please use those posts to facilitate discussion. Say what topics you're covering, or how you think the episode stacks up to others that you've made. There may be more guidelines later, as need arises. THE GRAND DIRECTORY How to use The Grand Directory: Goon shows are organized alphabetically by category. Click on the show's name to be whisked to the appropriate post for more details. If you take issue with the genre that your show is listed in, let me know. If you need to change anything about your listing, let me know. I have a podcast! That's Pure Entertainment Website: http://www.thatspureentertainment.com/ RSS: http://www.thatspureentertainment.com/feed/podcast/ Off beat cinema reviews and general rear end-hattery. Release schedule: Ideally bi-weekly. Fellow podcaster Tim and myself watch a lot of odd films. Films that never really found an audience but maybe deserved to. We pitch these films to our friend Danny who has tremendously poor taste and judgment in movies as a way to bring these films some attention as well as raise him out of the quagmire of things like The Postman and Catwoman. Is this something you want to hear? We're banking on 'maybe'! Special note: We lost the first two episodes we recorded and instead threw together a slapdash 15 minute episode as the new first episode. Things get [better/worse] from there.

Funny stuff as well, probably not the sort of thing I'd listen to every episode, more dipping in and out when I'm in the mood and I think a topic has good comedy potential. Another long-rear end wrestling show for this thread! Smart Wrestling Fan iTunes | Podbean Genre: "Sports"/Entertainment/Comedy Released: Weekly, Tuesday nights/Wednesday mornings Goon: dshban Description: What I believe was the first wrestling podcast on iTunes, and what remains as the most popular independent one. Joe Negron was an original host but when the other one departed, he looked for hosting help and I, as a listener with a funny accent, stepped in. Now we have 4 rotating co-hosts (as we added two other great listeners) who go through the week in wrestling and do stupid things like sing songs about the Chris Benoit double murder-suicide and read horrible wrestling fan fiction. It's pretty fun!

Anime World Order iTunes - RSS Genre: We talk about Japanese cartoons+comics, plus conventions and such. We do some interviews. Occasionally we have guests. That's it. Invite us on your show if you want to hear us talk gaming, movies, wrestling, etc. Schedule: It's supposed to be weekly. It's never been that. Monthly? Maybe? There is no real release schedule or set show length. Were it not for the SA forums, AWO wouldn't be where it is today. ADTRW members helped spread the word when we first started in 2005 and provided our hosting gratis even once we ate up way too much bandwidth. We (or people we've conscripted) have written many of the anime reviews for Otaku USA Magazine. And for what it's worth, we won the Parsec Award for Best Anime Podcast before they ditched that category once and for all. Look. We know. A lot of anime is just goddamned terrible. A lot of people used to watch anime and now don't because finding something enjoyable is too much hassle. Or maybe they still DO watch anime but don't want to publicly admit to genuinely enjoying it. Do you want to hear about cartoons that are good (or entertainingly awful) without hearing so much of that meme-heavy, ADD, creepy sex stuff? Then give us a shot. We've been fans for about 20 years, so our recommendations are a bit different than what you'll find in most non-ADTRW corners of the Internet. ADTRW, by the way, is pretty loving great these days; I don't really post much now since people there know what's what. EDIT ALMOST TEN YEARS TO THE DAY LATER: we've also started dipping our toes into YouTube, but so far there's not original content produced for the platform. Unless some light showers in the Norwich region put out a funk single in 1973. Or some red isobars directed an obscure comedy film starring Steve Martin, Tom Baker, Donkey Kong and some sleet. Predominantly obsessed with the world of entertainment, an average episode might feature anything from the worlds of TV, music, film, books, the web, radio, video games and kissing beagles in church parking lots. Basically it's me and two friends discussing the pros and cons of numerous "Ninjas vs. Pirates"-type questions and attempting to reach a conclusion. For example, in the first episode we argue: waffles vs. pancakes, zombie apocalypse vs. ice age, sandals and socks vs. crocs, hitting your first born with a golf club (but getting a hole in one) vs. putting your grandma in a snow globe full of peanut butter and shaking her up, and "Wookie Life Day" vs. leather pants. Alcohollywood iTunes | RSS Genre: Comedy, Discussion, Film & TV Reviews Released: Weekly (~Wednesdays) A new podcast from myself and a couple friends of mine, the general premise being to talk about/make fun of films through the framework of creative drinking rules. Each week, we take a new movie, design or use an existing cocktail for each film, and establish three rules and a "finish your drink" line. Those guidelines are then a springboard from which to talk about the movie. It's meant to be half 'Siskel and Ebert with drinks,' half 'party game instruction manual.' There will also be abridged Youtube versions of the episodes, focusing mostly on supercuts of footage from the movie in question. Please let me know what you think; the format is really rough, and as of this posting there is just the first episode up. We've got some tweaking we're going to do (e.g. substantially improving sound levels, inserting nonlicensed intro/outro music, using audio from the films), but hoping that it turns out all right. We hope to mostly work from movies suggested by listeners, which you can do by commenting on the Podbean site for the show, or by emailing contact.alcohollywood@gmail.com. Think Stuff iTunes | RSS Genre: Discussion, Entertainment, News, Tangential nonsense. Released: Every weekend Think Stuff podcast has been running in some (terrible) form or other for about 6 months or so, but we relaunched a little over 2 months ago, when we decided we'd learnt from the worst of our mistakes. We basically pick out stuff that's happened in the world each week and talk crap about it. It's a really sophisticated show. Until this week we'd been doing it live as well, but have stopped that for now. We tend not to describe ourselves as comedy, mainly because we don't do it to try and be funny, but we get the occasional nervous laugh here and there.
