There are actually different factions of PUA who all apparently are at odds with each other. According to my wonderful PUA friend, the group who are into Mystery and peacocking are "losers", the group who practice Neuro-linguistic programming (http://www.pualingo.com/pua-definitions/neuro-linguistic-programming-nlp/) (it basically involves what they believe to be brainwashing women into having sex with you) are "not cool", and the rest who are "normal" people. I'm just glad I convinced him to take a gender studies course this semester :unsmith:

You really shouldn't think about the door and you really don't have to think about the door." So you go back to playing around with her some more. Have some more fun with her, bring her to another orgasm or whatever and say, "you know, a terrible thing happened the other day. My friend was hit by a truck. I mean, it was awful, by the time they got him to hospital he was dead. I can't believe it, you know? It's almost as if, it would be a horrible thing you know when you think about.." (point towards the door) "..that no matter even if you were to get that door opened and you were to search, that you could never find me again.." Then she starts freaking out. You calibrate more on that part of, "you will never be able to see me again, you'll never be able to hear my voice again."

"You'll never be able.. all that fun we had together, all those great times we had together, walking along the beach, hand in hand in the moonlight, we would never be able to do those things again and even if you were to open that door, you would search and you could never find." And she's at the point where she's saying, "no no I hate this door. Let's stop this door now, are you trying to upset me?" And you say, "oh, I'm sorry sweetheart, I'm just saying these are just things that are popping into my mind, ok?" So play around some more. Get her good and nice and hot again, fool around, have a good time with her, joke, and then then get back into the door and say, "you know, God, still you know, about life's tragedies.. I mean, I just keep on thinking how.." At this point you can already see that this is starting to make her feel uncomfortable. You want to create that sense in her that you can walk out and she'll feel terrible for the rest of here life. You want to anchor that response. I'll get up and she'll say, "well what are you doing?" And I'll say, "I'm going to the bathroom." I go up to the bedroom door and slam it. That right there will freak her out. Then I'll open the door and say, "oh, I'm sorry. You know, I'm sorry, I'm just playing with this door again. You know, you really shouldn't think about this door now and you really don't want to think about this door now."

Having anchored that sense of loss and pain to the door, you can trigger it whenever needed. Whatever negative behavior may come up that you want to stop, the first time you just get up and slam the door. Whether you walk out the door depends on the level of bullshit. On later occasions you can just indicate tbe door in some manner. The example Alex gives: If he's talking on the phone and getting any crap from her, and he knows the relation of where the door is to her desk, he says, "sweetheart, could you please turn right and take a look at what's over there.." and that was the end of the bullshit."

Social Liberalism, Progressivism, socialism, Marxism and Communism, on the other hand, want to redistribute the money others make. The one philosophy raises people up, the other grinds them down. Don't wait till you get old and wise to be wise on this issue.

And that's it. Simple enough to memorize, but it took me seven decades to figure them out.

I had a now former friend on facebook, someone who I had met in person, and thought was really nice, go into a whole diatribe of how feminists couldn't possibly understand why women would react so positively to assertive, overpowering men. There were hints of PUA in what he was talking about, I mean it seemed like he was saying the success of date-rape means that feminists are wrong, but I wasn't sure until he literally pointed to PUA as what has gotten him more successful with women, and there was some female friend/ex of his on that post to back him up. He was being a manipulative bastard beforehand, basically going into "dance for me, my puppets" mode at some point, and then he actually acknowledged that explicitly.

PUA is date-rape training and apologetics, if you talk to a PUAer for long enough you'll realize that.

I'm going to eat it for this but there used to be a PUAish thread in Ask/Tell that was pretty helpful for guys who literally had no idea how to interact with women. It was more about self-improvement framed around dating rather than that creepy-rear end "door" stuff. Some guys just need help in figuring out how to approach and display interest in women without coming off as creepy or threatening or pathetic, I don't think it's fair to label all of them as creeps and weirdos.

The poo poo in this thread is creepy and pathetic though, don't get me wrong.

Well, it depends on where you draw the line between PUA and basic human interaction. A self-defined pick-up artist can tell me to shower daily and to approach women as equals, and you could technically label me a PUA trainee for doing those things. I find it's easiest to say "PUA = misogynist fuckbag" and anyone who gives non-misogynic dating advice isn't really a PUA.

A lot of the PUA stuff I've seen also focuses on actually being threatening too. So much of the poo poo takes basic ideas like "have a conversation with a human being" and turns it into "be as close possible, get as much physical contact as possible" etc.

I think that in general the idea of simply being confident and not a goofy nerd part of pua poo poo makes perfect sense, but pretty much everything beyond that involves dehumanizing women and being a total sleazeball. I think the best example of this is that a conversation with a woman isn't a conversation, it's a "set" with a HB[insertnumberhere]. It's such a small thing but it really really weirds me out.

If you're looking for a way to ruin your day as early as possible, look up LMR (last minute resistance) advice on reddit or pua forums. It will be twice as bad as you probably expect

As I understood it, they often just bless the facility and put up a plaque after making sure the actual slaughter process is up to standards. And since there is so much overlap between kosher and halal, most facilities don't actually have to change any of their processes; they just slap a second plaque on the wall next the the kosher one and presto-change-o everything is now both kosher and halal.

They are literally getting outraged because someone puts a plaque up in the slaughterhouse.

I wonder what it's like being so paranoid of Muslims that you have to worry about such insane things like if your turkey was slaughtered by one. Like, if they discovered that their triple patty deluxe bacon burger from Wendys was prepared by a fry cook who happened to be Muslim would they suddenly start panicking looking for an exorcist?

I used to buy fried chicken from a halal shop because it was closer to my accommodation than the KFC. Was cheaper and tasted the same. Anyway it didn't bother me at the time but someone suggested halal slaughter is inhumane so I looked around and the only study I saw suggests that it is actually more humane. They used altered brain and heart activity as a proxy for pain:

In the past few weeks I have seen four of my friends post something along these lines:

They're all obvious copy-pastes of poo poo originally written about America. Sometimes it includes a line about the war on Christmas; the three times before this it specified immigrants as the problem. Every single time, I ask for proof of a single school in the whole country that has banned the anthem because someone was offended. Unsurprisingly, they haven't been able to provide that evidence because it's not actually happening anywhere.

In a way I'd almost prefer that they were upfront about their prejudice rather than hide behind a facade of cozy Canadian pride.

I have seen similar poo poo in emails and facebook but for America, like you noted. But you are right, its bullshit because schools still have kids stand up and say the pledge. Our eldest is in 5th grade, and they say it every morning, with the principal leading the entire school over the intercom. I will be honest, part of me finds it very creepy. But they do it, everyday.
