This is now the official Skyrim thread for Cycle Asylum. Please no posting about bikes for the next month.

Only issue I have with it is that it would better if they completed the job of getting rid of all the Elder Scrolls sandboxiness (generic objects, NPCs etc) and did more of the awesome storytelling. But that's just me.

I ended up buying a 560Ti and upgrading to 8 gigs of memory as well, but intended to use it for BF3. I've already put way more time into Skyrim, and I've only had it for a week.

My dual card radeon 4850 setup is handling the game quiet well considering i'm on a 3 year old i7 machine.

Probably time for a new computer when summer rolls around.

Skyrim is ridiculously amazing, i've cleared a bunch of dungeons but I know theres still tons more to do. It's pretty awesome taking over forts with fellow imperials.

I wish they'd just made potions and soulgems weigh nothing because they take up so much drat space, I end up putting them in my house chest only to run into some nasty frost dragon and I don't have frost resist potions on me....

Probably! It actually scales pretty well. Just have to put everything low.

I can't walk two feet without getting some ridiculously epic fully voice-acted quest line. I have like 40 incomplete quests because every time I head to a quest marker it adds two more. :argh:

It's not actually a resource hog as far as I can tell and seems to be similar to Fallout 3 in that respect. Certainly my system isn't exceptional (mediocre by goon standards I'm guessing) and it runs fine at a fairly high detail level.

I wouldn't really compare this to Fallout 3 because I've only crashed to desktop a total of twice and I have over 40 hours played. :D

Saga

Yeah, it's slightly more stable, not that Fallout was that bad (on my system). Plus, the autosave works better than Fallout, so if you do CTD you usually have a save that's about 5 minutes old.

With Fallout I did occasionally lose big chunks with the odd out of the blue crash because I had been playing for an hour without saving.

However, I have found myself stuck in arcane enchanters and scenery, which is the sort of thing that never happened in Fallout.

Funny I'm in the same situation right now, all beered out on homebrew.

I might have time to swing down through Santa Cruz but I drove up this weekend so it's unlikely. Still feeling a little under the weather. Maybe next time I come through, or otherwise when I'm back up in the bay.

Apparently I'm in wave 2 of the SW:TOR testing, so it looks like I'll be in tomorrow morning :sigh:

Don't do it! Playing Elder Scrolls games on an XBox is just wrong. Bethesda games are always buggy as hell and the PC mod community does a ton of stuff to improve them greatly.

I managed to cheese my Illusion skill up to 50 in a night and get the Silent Spell perk by constantly casting muffle when walking through towns. Silently casting fireballs from stealth is hilarious.
