The English press isn't familiar with the word "training," they write that everything is a trial.

U.S. under 17s up on Turkey 1-0

Edit- Straight red for a Turkish player. Looks like the US kids got this locked up. Still 10 mins left in the first half.

Bender: "I was God once." God: "Yes, I saw. You were doing well until everyone died."

US up 2-1 in 91st. Herbert Flores is just sick man. He's been the best player in both games I've seen this week by far. I hope he's on some MLS team's books somewhere and gets a run out next year. He certainly is good enough.

Also, there's a forward for the US who looks like a miniature Edson Buddle and finishes like him too. He missed 2 1-on-1s with the keeper.

That was DeAndre Robinson. The "good" forward is Wade, I think.

To be fair, I think that's a pretty good representation of the nation, at least in the West.

He either 1. headed in a ball because no one marked him or 2. latched on to a through ball because everyone fell down.

Seems that Pelosi is one of the favorites in the u18s. We very well may have an actually good player in a few years here.

The camera lingering on the down Brazilian who appeared to be convulsing at the end of half was a bit unsettling. Not sure exactly what happened to him, looked like he might've taken a hard shot to the kidney.

This last crop of 15-18 year olds have been really good, at least against our regular standards. We may actually have a pretty competitive team in 5-6 years.
