I filled in one online form saying I had no TV and only watch iplayer and 4OD and they've left me alone since. Over a year now without a single demanding letter.

Agreed. I love the BBC and am happy to pay the "I don't have to watch ITV" tax (strangely, not wanting to fund the BBC is one of the things that I've noticed that both Graun-reading left-wingers and Telegraph-reading right-wingers seem to agree on), but I really dislike how the TV licensing people are only capable of communicating in threats. Edit: Also is anyone else watching Strictly? I think Chelsea is looking like the most likely winner. The way that girl can move her body from the waist down is just unreal sometimes. I think nearly all of the remaining contestants on Strictly are really very strong, with Harry, Holly, Jason and Chelsee being another rung above Robbie and Alex. I sometimes wonder if Holly and Jason (Holly moreso) have the fanbase compared to the UK stars to get the votes in.

I just caught up with Life's Too Short. I watched all four episodes and didn't laugh once. Big disappointment, because I was looking forward to it. I don't think I saw a single thing that hasn't been done in The Office/Extras. The smug, deluded tit of a central character, the useless agent/accountant, the celebrities acting out caricatures of themselves, the humiliation of trying to work your way up through show business and of being a seldom recognised/forgotten minor celebrity. The only thing I hadn't really seen from the other two shows was Warwick's slapstick dwarf stuff: getting locked in a room, falling out of his big car, not being able to reach things that are high up. Kind of worrying, that. I'd have to agree with whoever it was earlier who pointed out that there just isn't enough to the central character. It seems like Warwick is just being a David Brent but without the subtleties that made me feel sympathetic in the end towards the latter.

Does anyone know if/when last weeks episode of Him and Her is going to be re-uploaded? Or why it was taken down in the first place?

Jason presumably has legions of women in their late-20s-to-late-30s who remember fancying him as teenagers. Holly doesn't quite have that advantage, but she was on Neighbours for years, and that has to count for something. You're right though, it's going to be a pretty tough last few weeks in terms of really picking the strongest competitor. Much as I really do like the four that you listed as the top tier, I still think it's probably Chelsee who impresses me most, though it's really going to depend whether she gets to do more of the lightning-fast dances that she clearly specialises in. It's funny, because a few weeks back, I never would have picked her as my favourite to win. At the start she didn't seem to have the sheer enthusiasm for it that everyone else (particularly Russell Grant, who was clearly having the time of his life) did in the interviews and training segments, but you could see on her face tonight that she was loving it. She might not always be the most eloquent contestant in interviews, but it's not a debate, it's a dance-off.

Don't write to say that you don't have television transmission capabilities. I did that 7 years ago thinking I was being a conscientious citizen. 7 years later and those bloody letters are still following me around like a bad smell. They never did come to check either.

Things that don't appear on iplayer sharpish or that disappear after a while rarely turn up. Radio is really bad for it. They say "it's being looked into" until the 7 days are up and then just ignore it.

I just got really into Never Mind the Buzzcocks. What's a good starting-off point? I'm watching the first-ever episode now, and while it's (naturally) slow, it still has Phill. Should I skip over to when Bill Bailey started being a captain?

I wonder which political party it's supposed to be. Brooker was on 6 radio through the week and said that the PM in it is supposed to be very similar to a certain real PM. He doesn't seem to be anywhere near slimy enough to be a Cameron parody. In fact he just seems like a rather generic British PM.
