This sale is great. Ten apps for less money than the price of a single bus ticket? Sold! I already went ahead bought most of it. I'm kind of pissed now that I bought SwiftkeyX at full price a while ago, though.

How is SwiftKeyX so different from the usual keyboard (why should I buy it)?

I think it has the superior key layout compared to other keyboards, and its word suggestions are really good. After a while it can string together whole sentences for you. It also optionally learns from your sent SMS and Email and such. For ten cents, it's a great buy.

Grawl posted:How is SwiftKeyX so different from the usual keyboard (why should I buy it)? It predicts words based on your typing habits. On first launch, it will ask to scan your text messages and some other stuff. It will also predict words before you type any letters. Also it's 10 cents.

Pity all the themes are so ugly. If I give it my Gmail or Facebook login what will it actually learn off? I'd imagine it could make prediction worse if it went back too far into either of those accounts.

Grawl posted:How is SwiftKeyX so different from the usual keyboard (why should I buy it)? In addition to the really awesome prediction and superior layout everyone else already mentioned, it's also really customizable. I went back to the stock gingerbread keyboard for a while and not being able to customize the strength of the haptic feedback or how long you need to long press for alternate characters really bugged me. The gestures are pretty handy too.

Is there a good calendar app that has a 1x4 or 2x2 widget, and that'll hook into my Google Calendar?

I love touch calendar and I bet it has a widget that would work for you.

Just grabbed SwiftKey and others. Takes a bit to get used to, especially with the next word prediction

I tried out swiftkey a while back and it was completely awful at predicting anything i was going to say, and even in landscape was completely unable to register half of my keystrokes - i've been using Gingerbread Keyboard Pro(plus?) and i can type with blazing fingers with minimal mistakes. Even in portrait it works pretty well.

So ADW launcher is going to be a $0.10 app this week. So hold off if you were planning to buy it right this moment. Definitely picking it up to see if it'll make me switch from Go Launcher (which is running rather well on my Thunderbolt.)

Does AirSync only work if you've got DoubleTwist, or does it work independently of it? Also, is it any better at syncing music, specifically, then AirDroid is? e: gently caress it, it's 10c compared to it's normal 5 bucks, so I really can't lose out here. I would still like to know these things, though.

If you use iTunes already, I use iSyncr and the wifi addon. Works beautifully, and I saw on the website that you can setup a Tasker event to run on certain SSIDs so you can automatically update once you get home.

Smart Keyboard Pro has been my go-to keyboard for ages. I like Swiftkey but the short space bar kills me. I've tried to adapt but I always end up missing it when I type.
