_Dav posted:It's Ok, really not great value for money imo. Chain looks rusty, suggests owner might not be top notch with servicing/consumables. That was an old picture from a previous owner. Turns out the guy selling it was on the same course as me (Mech Eng, I am on Aero), anyway he had taken quite good care of it done lots of work, new chain, rebuilt brakes, replaced the fork seals. Had reciepts for all the servicing for the two year he had owned it, as well as past MOTs. I ended up buying it, originally wanted a CB600 because it seemed like a good bike to start on while not being too small (I am 197cm) or too slow to keep up with motorway traffic. I guess all the same things apply to a GSF600 though.

Seems like one hell of a deal. Granted the riding season is over, but a 250 scooter would be very nice for a city bike. We'll see what I get for a reply to the ad. EDIT: Bah, too good to be true, shipping scam reply. BradleyJamers fucked around with this message at 04:33 on Nov 17, 2011 |

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/mcy/2706746433.html Anybody think this is a terrible idea? If I can get it for $400 or so would this be a good deal? I kinda want a newer bike than my 80 CB750F and I live in Los Angeles so it's always riding season.

That is a pretty good deal on the Ninja assuming everything is in order(minus the bars of course). Can be had for cheaper, but usually the engine is blown cause they believed in the 11k rpm redline. There is no rev limiter other than running off the map at 12k, and it likes to spin bearings if left over 10k for a while. Let me know if you don't buy it ASAP, I might just drive up there with my 'oh god the engine is ready to grenade' ninja's handlebars and just ride the thing home. Speaking of which I really need to decide on a new engine or to part this thing out.....

Yeah go ahead and contact that guy. I can give him your phone number if you guys want, he said he's having people over tomorrow around 2 to look at it so it might be gone then. He invited me to go at that time but I did the math and I can't hack the cost right now.

The Pacific coast and that Ducati look like some sort of "futuristic" concept bike from the 70's or 80's, like they designed a concept bike that was all "THIS IS WHAT WE'LL BE DRIVING IN THE FUTURE YEAR OF TWO THOUSAND" and then actually sold it to the public.
