Just finished building the Venator Ship. It was an average build, not as fun, or sturdy as the Star Destroyer from a few years back though. I don't like the removable bridge section, it's not held in place by anything solid, and that whole rear end of the ship feels fragile. Inside you have a neat little bomb release mechanism, a strangely out of place turret considering it opens up the entire side of the ship when active...in space. and a little escape ship thingy. *looks at the 1012 line up* ANOTHER Jedi Starfighter?!?

I wonder if LEGO would pick-up ship designs from SW:The Old Republic if the game manages to do well. Some of the ships from that game look pretty cool.

Aww, of all the LOTR castles and towns they seemed to have cherrypicked some dull stuff (except that helms deep, once the set is finalized I think it will look a ton better), but no Bag end or any of the inns or Im dissapointed.. Ill wait an extra 5 minutes before buying all of it anyway

The TIE Fury is from the EU Legacy era thats 140 years after the battle of yavin not from Knights of the Old Republic. It is actaully pretty interesting to look at but depends on how the final version is. The LOTR sets are expectedly so-so. I was really hoping they would do some more creative scenes like Rivendell or one of the more pretty locations. Everything is totally battle themed it seems. Oh well it will probably sell enough for more expansions.

Having visited Hobbiton last year, I will buy every drat Hobbit hole they put out, Here's hoping they have a few for The Hobbit themed sets coming out next year. If not I may just have to MOC a few based on my pictures of the set.

Get out of here, Nebulon-B! No one likes your style. For the person who wanted the Toy Story Green Army Men set: If you're in the US, check Target for their current Christmas polybag sets. Mine has a bunch of $4 ones that are just the jeep and one minifigure, which may be an acceptable substitute.

Just finished building the VW camper van. This is a drat good build. Technic pieces are kept to a minimum and there are some interesting build techniques used. Well worth a buy if you're looking for a large, interesting model to build. There are still a few sets that I really want, but unfortunately being stuck out in Romania sucks with regards to getting sets at a decent price. Everything is priced £20 more than it would cost in the UK (the larger sets that is), Amazon's postage is extortionate, and lego store don't ship here. I guess it's back to sorting my buckets again

RodShaft posted:I think that's the closest I'm gonna get with lego. As has already been said, the issue with any of these non-motorized trains is that they won't run out of the box and there's no easy way to modify the locomotive itself. A look at the instructions of the Toy story Train (which you can find for free download through lego.com customer service along with most sets from the past 7 years or so) shows the wheels are not properly articulated to be motorized. Your best bet would be to build a box car or tender, or modify one of the existing cars to take the motor. I think the locomotive will handle curves as is, but I'm not 100% on that. Here's what you need: Power Functions Train motor. More complicated train MOCs usually use the standalone M or XL motors like Technic sets use, but for a simpler modification, this motor is what you want. It's a pretty close analog to the old 9v motor. Rechargeable 9v battery or AAA battery box. The rechargeable battery also needs a charger (sold separately, of course). If you get the AAA box, get some decent rechargeable batteries for it, because it will kill 6 AAAs in less than 3 hours, most likely. IR Receiver. Remote Control. Technically you can do without the remote and IR receiver, and just plug the motor into the battery. Both batteries have on/off switches and both have polarity switches to change direction. The rechargeable battery even has on-board speed control. If you want to easily control the speed and turn the train on and off, though, you should really get the remote and receiver. Track which they appear to be sold out of. If you don't have a nearby Lego Store, you'd have to either buy a stock train set for track, or try ebay or amazon. Incidentally, the separate Power Functions motors and controls and whatnot are only available online. Any of the three starter train sets will have everythig you need to get started, but none are very holiday-y. If you have any Lego train track from any era though, Power Functions trains will run on it. Spaceman Future! posted:They keep releasing these generic cruisers rather than: Seriously. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this. After the UCS Blockade Runner came out it seemed like the next size step up and I was convinced we see it in the next couple years.

oh hell, I need both of these technic sets http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ki2OMUIkn0Y&context=C35b0f21ADOEgsToPDskKRRjNBauup8Jm4JX-DcnEs First one is a fairly heavy duty looking helicopter has power functions, the second one looks like a monster truck or mud truck and it also has power functions and a remote so guess we are getting a remote control driveable set. bye money, I am sure I will end up spending $400 on both of those sets, I doubt the buggy will be under $250 much like the escavator and the helicopter will be around $150 much like the super car.
