They're stickers, I think. Remove them and you should be able to remove the top panel.

So I'm assuming you have to hit them with something special to take the number down, and only once it's at 0 will they be affected by Mudo. Something like that.

I knew it would work something like that! The game does look pretty cool now regardless, so I hope it comes out sometime soon. Akihiko in particular looked sick, they even gave him a shin shoryuken and he's all teleporting around while beating up Aegis.

There is a P4U thread and y'all haven't read the OP of Naoto's mechanics?  Basically yeah, Naoto's deal is that she ticks down the opponent's skull gauge (Known as Fate Gauge in the game) with her Persona, then combo into her Hamaon/Mudoon super. Mudoon's the one shown in the video.
