The only reason to pick Tron other than sincerely liking the character disappeared in Ultimate. Strangely enough I almost never see Sentinel players online any more, and when I do they're almost always Hulk/Nemesis/Sentinel and playing how you'd probably expect.

dimitri/gene/gene with something like zero/nova/sentinel is hilarious snapbacks are free, steal over a bar in meter, and make you invisible with two characters that have gigantic limbs that can't miss. You can swap one of the genes for leon to get an attack boost if you wanna be serious and not just troll people

He didn't have a health regen card, you could have won. Also, Haggar is a pretty strong counter pick. I have been running a similar build and it's hilarious to watch people be totally unable to attack you. The best is when they figure out that they need to throw you, but they figure it out towards the end of the round when there's not time to kill enough of your team so you can just let them hit you but they still lose.

He mostly sucks because he is so drat slow and in X factor he goes a reasonable enough speed to be able to fight, not to mention the full screen super fast lock down.

Gold Armor Scatter Crossbow is great, too. I was fighting a guy online tonight and the bolts kept looping behind his back and interrupting his attack. Actually, regular crossbow isn't bad either if you do it in the air at a distance. Does anyone know what Arthur's b.H looping sword thing is for?

Finally got this game yesterday, and christ, Frank West is a fun character. Best of all, he works perfectly with one of my favorite vanilla characters, Viewtiful Joe. Joe's great because his multi-hit Mach Speed hyper ends in a launcher, so ground chain > Mach Speed > Triple-jump air combo > Air-Joe > exchange means an instant level 4 for Frank as soon as he enters the fight, and at the cost of only one meter! Too bad I haven't touched vanilla MVC3 since Skyrim came out and now I'm so goddamn rusty at this game...

Anyone have thoughts on a good third for GhostRider/Doom? I have pretty low input skills, it's my biggest weakness, but I'm actually able to do those 2's basic combos with a good deal of reliability(screw up doom's a lot if I'm not in the corner though), and I actually like using them too. I've been messing around with a few people but no one's really clicking. I figure I have time to passably learn a new third and surprise my friends the next time we meet up for some fights. I like to use GhostRider on point, with Doom acting mainly as an assist barrage, using plasma beam, but I'm still pretty open to swapping some stuff around.

Dark Hole assist is very easy to extend GR combos with, plus Dorm benefits a lot from either plasma beam or hidden missiles and he has high damage DHC options. He also has the capability to play more keepaway if it was working for you with GR, or change it up and get in peoples faces which is nice.

If you timed the jump correctly the flying thing will hit them, you can be holding back to block in the air the entire time this is happening. You can also use it with j.S for a double air attack.

This isn't some crazy new idea they're trying (like purposefully putting in an assist that is absolutely 100% invincible the entire way through), it's not going to get patched out. That set-up requires the corner and Morrigan (who's generally not considered a good character at all) and works best with Skrull also helping (who's not considered all that great, and is pretty uncommon). It's not that crazy. edit: And let's not forget that Sentinel, who's a pretty common and good character, can escape for only 1 meter. I'm not familiar enough with the other unblockables to comment but I'm assuming they can't lead into a one-touch kill on an entire team, especially on a character who has a braindead drag to the corner and is balanced by low damage output. Capcom's a business more than anything else and if this catches on I think they'll bow to pressure and change it, plus if you don't feel any guilt over winning like that you are a tool regardless of what his highness Sirlin says. To be honest I was mostly messing with whatshisface for being smug theorycrafting fighting game nerd #3289327 but I don't want to kill this thread so I'll drop it

If you read the video comments, someone setup an H&H team to exploit that loop and Capcom did specifically nerf that Firebrand move in that mode (made it so you don't spin out if you get hit with it in the air, you just fall), but it would be much more abusable if you didn't have to charge it and have a specific assist to hit incoming characters with it. It's probably on their radar but I don't think tournaments would ban it because a one-touch would basically be 2 minutes straight of perfect execution after picking what's considered a low-tier team. I don't think Capcom will patch it on their own because probably no one will ever get one-touched by it online (as opposed to the thousands of casual players who probably got demolished by invincible Wright assists online). It takes the guy a minute to kill 1 low life character and the way he was snapping he wouldn't have been able to loop the third character because the other 2 would be dead (although maybe he can X-factor lvl 1 when the last character comes in and kill him with the 1 meter he has, don't know Firebrand that well).
