SinetheGuy posted:Edit: Some do. One book will be bags marked 1 through 3, and the other book bags marked 4 through 6, or something to that effect. There was a small lego fire engine I build that had this setup. The trailer was one book, the engine another. The star wars republic frigate is like this. In this case someone could probably do the first manual, and someone else the second at the same time, then stick the big chunks together. Star Wars Slave I also has multiple books. However, to continue to the second manual you need to have the first one complete. Its not two big pieces you can build separately and then stick together. So YMMV.

Does anyone else hope that TLG make some kind of official microscale humans? Obviously nothing as advanced as a minifig, but some little varied humans about the height of three studs would be really fun. Or am I a lame hellfucker idiot?

I have a mid-00's Millennium Falcon, and while the new one just has minor improvements to the exterior, the interior looks to be a complete redesign.Torael_7 posted:It's basically a neat use of those dumb battle droid arms. Like hell they're dumb. They are able to be re-purposed for all sorts of poo poo. Real handy.

I made a proper 'window' for a tie fighter moc out of those droid arms without using a premade part or stickers. They are great for angles and can hold a lightsaber bar that you can put through a friction pin thats in a studded brick making it easier to add angles and contours.

I'm curious if this is a redesign in a good way or a bad way. The thing that impresses me most about this set, is how sturdy it is. If this was a set I got as a kid, I'd be completely comfortable playing with it and running around the house with it. Way too many sets I get anymore seem to lose that sturdy feel as they get more realistic.

Found Palpatine's Shuttle (the one with disfigured Anakin in it) for $30 at Walmart. Merry Christmas, indeed.

Click for flickr set! I've been meaning to build more minifig-scale space stuff, so here's a thing! It's part of a series of ships based on standardized parts I've been designing.

So you want to order more stuff to fill the stupid, giant box they insist on using, but that just jacks the tax up. It's lose/lose. Hah, the Lego Australia online store has some decent deals. Was going to buy the Pharos Quest Bi-Plane set for $27. Shipping was $30.

The B model for 8043 escavator turns out really well. It is a fast and nimble brick pushing and dumping machine. When I take it apart it will rebuilt into a much improved 8043 with larger motors and at least another reciever and battery battery pack.

So, I just pulled the trigger on 4 Construct-A-Zurgs, an Earth Defense HQ and a UCS Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter. I'm pretty tempted to build the Starfighter but I might say gently caress it and just sort it, haha.

I just came back from seeing TinTin and if there's ever been an IP begging to be licensed with more of a shot of making some awesome Lego sets outside of maybe Star Wars it's that movie. Tons of bad guys, good guys, vehicles and settings. All sorts of crazy trap doors, gadgets excitement and adventure. As I watched it I saw all the stuff that could be made.

Having discovered the Fire Brigade is only £99.99 compared to the Pet Shop's £119.99, I will be buying that this week with Christmas money. I am super excited. My last 'big' set was the Creator Lighthouse, and that was small compared to this.

Instead of using small plates to make up the numbers, they went for some hosed up technic method, which is fiddly and near impossible to get straight. Also if the other modulars are anything to go by, these will increase nicely in value in a few years.

Had a pretty Legoey Christmas weekend. Build the VW Camper with my dad, which was pretty awesome. It's a cool build to do together and my dad is a huge VW van fan, so he was super happy with the result. I also played with my old Lego with my little nephew and we had a blast building houses and cars with all my old 80s stuff We also dug out all the old construction books and boy, times sure were different in the seventies!

I had bought some Atlantis sets with the idea of using the parts for a Town Hall, only I haven't bothered since the release news. Although it does leave me with a dilemma of fitting in the purchase of the Pet Shop in a year with a new modular, new Creator and that awesome looking Joust set. I need a payrise!

Yeah, that set looks great. I missed out on that one - I was still dark aged when it came out. I've got it on my eBay searches but I doubt I'll ever have the opportunity to grab it at a justifiable price.

Problem is the dot system is sometimes hard to read and changes from time to time. In my particular case, the place I've been buying from has batch 321B1, and I can't find a cheat sheet for it. The 125B1 bump codes don't match 321B1 so it's useless. I've tried feeling for things, but it's pretty hit or miss and the minfigs are all on pegs in front of the cash so I can't just tear apart the whole display in front of the cashier while people are waiting in line.
