So between the Lego sale a few weeks ago, and now a buy 2, get one free sale at Fred Meyer/Smiths, I have another little pile: In other news, sky is blue, grass is green, etc.

What do you guys think of this tiny promo set? http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=30029-1 I bought a couple cheaply with the intention of selling them, but we will see if there is any interest. For 3 GBP (about 5$) I got about 100 yellow pieces. The prices in Bricklink suggest I can sell them for double what I bought them. This set is only available in the UK for a small amount of time.

Picked up my first lego set in several years, the Batman 2 Face set. Quite a fun little build, the batmobile is excellent. All in all a great set and the play factor looks really good for kids. I really need to find the joker fun house set now.

What is a good price per pound of lego that has all the minifigs taken out of it? This includes a lot of Star Wars sets but the dude would love to keep the minifigs, but for brikwars I need all the LEGO. All of it. And does anyone have plans for a tank? I am trying to make an all army man green one for my brikwars army and it isn't as easy as I'd hoped it would be. dirtycajun fucked around with this message at 12:58 on Jan 19, 2012 |

I don't suppose one of you guys could give me a ballpark estimate as to what this would cost to make? Its the best lego DeLorean I've seen so far and I really would love to build it - not sure if I'll go BTTF with it or not though. There's a few things I'd like to change on it so I'd probably have to go build it in whatever program there is for this sort of thing for macs, but before I waste my time I just wondered what I was looking at. £50? £100? Thanks! echoplex fucked around with this message at 14:54 on Jan 19, 2012 |

A huge portion of the price to make that Delorian will probably be in the postage costs. Unfortunately you will have to make many separate orders, as there is no way a single seller will have all those parts, especially if you want them at a good price. Hope that gets you on the right track. *edit* I take that back. You can get it all from one seller and that seller is Ichibantoys.

Also, if you can, try to contact the guy who built it and see if he can provide an LDD drawing or some plans or something. While a talented LEGO artist could recreate that just from the photos, I can promise you there's a lot going on under the skin that would make this difficult for even the average builder to attempt. Ooh. Here's a lot more pictures. That makes it easier, but this is a seriously talented build with a lot of extra detail. einTier fucked around with this message at 19:32 on Jan 19, 2012 |

Finally got around to TRU to pick out some series 6 minifigs. I gotta say, the "feeling the package" method wasn't something I have had much success with until this series. I was 4 for 4 on minotaurs. In addition to my mini-minotaur-minifig army, snagged a Celtic Warrior, Statue of Liberty, Genie, Leprechaun, and managed to avoid getting any skateboarders. No luck in finding a cowboy or Roman legionnaire, I thought it would be easier to feel for the pistols and the spears, but evidently not. Perhaps they were all bought up already. Anyway, this is for you guys.

So I started messing around with LDD, but I ran into a problem. How exactly do you assemble all of the wheel parts? I found the hub, but I don't know what tire would fit, or even how to get the hub into the tire. What's even worse is I don't know how to connect the wheel to the peg.
|
# ? Jan 19, 2012 23:59 |

It can be a bit fiddly but most parts that are supposed to go with other parts (wheels and axles, hinges, etc.) should snap into place when they're aligned right. You may need to rotate the camera or even the piece, particularly if you're not working with standard right angles. As to matching up tyres and wheels, maybe look up the parts and cross-reference what are used in various sets. Or just play around until something fits.
