I can't remember if this has been posted in this thread before, but even so, I'm sure there are some who didn't notice it: 910 Essential Mixes on SoundCloud At two hours a pop, that's nearly 76 days of mixes

status posted:I can't remember if this has been posted in this thread before, but even so, I'm sure there are some who didn't notice it: Boston to Cleveland is what, 10/11 hours? Here is what I would listen to: First, the latest Tiga BBC 6 Mix Show from Dec 12 2011 (you can do some googling to find these, if not, PM me). Our very own g (Nautiluss) has a track on the mix. It's good, has some commentary from Tiga, so it will help you get on the road. Next, I would listen to the Numbers show on Rinse from 7 June 2011 - Jamie XX joins Jackmaster in the mix, it's a great set imho (I'm not a Jamie xx stan, but I'm pretty sure Jackmaster helps Jamie, plus Jamie has some good unreleased tracks). So that's four hours total. Next, the Girl Unit FACT Mag Mix (fact mag mix 154). Girl Unit is a don. Then the Joy Orbison x Trilogy Tapes x Hinge Finger mix (here: http://soundcloud.com/the-trilogy-tapes/joy-orbison-x-ttt-x-hinge) it's unreal. We're close to six hours-ish now. Then the Gucci Vump (Brodinski x ? a friend not G-Stein) mixtape (here: http://soundcloud.com/guccivump/gucci-vump-nvthin-bvt-a-gvxxi) it's great. It's a bit slower, but it has some amazing remixes. I would also try to find the Jackmaster Resident Advisor Podcast. Jackmaster is also a don. Would pick things back up from the short Gucci Vump mixtape. This should put you at eight hours overall. Then I would finish with the recent Pearson Sound Essential Mix. It's prob one of my favorite essential mixes I've heard in a while. Overall not a whole lot of overlapping tracks (the only time you should be hearing overlapping tracks is potentially on the Joy Orbison Hinge Finger mix and the Jackmaster RA mix, but only then it's a few tracks). So, that would be my suggestion. Go ham.

Its a different style than the disco house I've released in the past, more chilled and purp'd out but I think some of you here may enjoy it! Feedback is appreciated you've been blowing up my soundcloud lately, but its all good cause i think we have the same taste in tunes. Keep up the good work brodogski.

Okay I've always liked Tech House/Deep House but never really bothered to explore the scene. So what would you guys suggest are some must-listen EPs/Albums/Mixes to introduce me to the genres?

Leon with a Zero posted:Are they touring again? i saw them play the 40th anniversary of glasto and they said that was it and they only did it because it was a special occasion (that day was awesome as the orb played that day as well). Orbital headlining was fantastic, would like to see them again. WHATEVER MAN you live in Great Britain, they probably play there once a week. I'm sure Underworld toured in support of their new album, and I think Orbital will, but the question that I have is whether or not they'll come to Chicago, which is much more of a stretch.

I got into Minimal and some Acid, but I want to get more into Tech and Deep House. I would say off the bat if you don't know Richie Hawtin / Plastikman then you should just listen to all that poo poo because you'll probably love it.

From listening to the albums I was really not expecting M83 to pretty much turn the tracks into extended live dance versions. loving awesome. Skin of the Night becomes a beast of a track live, so does We Own The Sky... So good.

Roybot posted:Have any examples of tracks you like already? Deep house and tech house are really varied, just like every other genre. There's jazzy and soulful house (classic and minimal), modern stuff, minimalish, techno-y, downtempo etc etc etc... plus straightup tech house and all its branches... The VFB you posted as "minimal" is killer, I actually just did a remix that sounds pretty similar. I'm into the more minimal or acid stuff, Gui Boratto and Richie Hawtin is my main poo poo right now, I'm looking for more harmonically interesting deep house. But at the same time I love the Brawther you posted too, and that's pretty harmonically simple. Are there some comps or heavyweight tech/deep house artists to look for to start? Side note, here's my entry in the 3rd annual Acid Battle. All live, one pass, no edits. MPC / 606 / x0xb0x / Juno-6 / Virus C, check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hdZsjMi8KUk

I got linked to an Audiomatique compilation album (which got me started on this path), and there's two tracks on it I really love: Adultnapper - Almost Nothing (Patrick Chardronnet Remix) and Tiger Stripes - AH-64. They're both quite different tonally but that might give you a better idea of what I'm interested in.
