Hello *core-goons, this band is a bunch of my mates who are doing a tour of the east cost of Australia in a week or so. DOWNPOUR check out their Facebook for details if you're in Sydney, Mebourne, Byron Bay or anywhere in between and go get in on this. FFO - Infest, Man is the Bastard, Trap Them, other stuff I dunno, I'm sure someone will correct me

Howard is out of Killswitch. They don't say why but...weren't there rumors awhile back that he wasn't getting along with a lot of the band? http://www.facebook.com/killswitchengage/posts/10150457939016581

chocolateTHUNDER posted:Apparently It Dies Today is back together and writing a new album. I know some of you guys were fans of their earlier stuff so I just thought I would leave that here. If Nicholas Brooks is coming back as the vocalist I'm loving on board with bells on. It Dies Today got me into metalcore in my late teens (Jesus Christ that was a long time ago) and I've always held a soft spot for them. Did you listen to the Forever Scorned EP that was re-released? Because that wasn't very good at all, but I thought the Catiff Choir was alright for what they were going for. The original release of Forever Scorned loving kills.

I'm not sure which version of Forever Scorned I have; I'll have to check into that. FWIW though I actually enjoyed Sirens.

I know metalcore is the ugly stepsister of the core genres but I can't stop listening to Children of Fire by Oh, Sleeper. It's a few months old but I missed it somehow, maybe I can share it with someone else: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fl0JrSbd6bY

As a big Oh, Sleeper fan, I'm a little disappointed in myself for not getting Children of Fire. I listened through it once on Spotify, then forgot all about it. On a related noted: The Devil Wears Prada, Every Time I Die, Oh, Sleeper, and letlive. just announced tour dates together. Pretty stoked about it.

That one song is just...drat. That and Dead Throne really surprised me, I was always a closet tDWP fan but now I don't have to feel guilty about them anymore

The new Lamb Of God album is floating around...and it...sure is Lamb of God! I've listened to it two times and...nothing really catches my interest on it. Which is a shame, because I thought Wrath was catchy as hell.

I really like Sacrament and Wrath, I actually didn't care for Ashes of the Wake as much. As the Palaces Burn is still the best though

Thought I'd ask for recommendations here rather than in the megathread since I can't stop listening to Bring me the Horizon or Misery Signals (Mirrors, specifically) for some reason. Anything in the same vein that I should be aware of? Thanks!

BMTH, maybe For the Fallen Dreams and Asking Alexandria.

(Which is basically a slower, more technical Mirrors)

For Misery Signals-esque bands, I recommend Of Virtue and Heartless. I'd post youtubes but I am lazy. BMTH fans check out Like Moths to Flames and also ... *forgets name* I like being helpful

Oh yeah, despite their status as a favorite amongst teenyboppers, the latest Asking Alexandria tape is quite good and very similar to BMTH.

I've liked then since I got their first album on a whim and the first words on it were "gently caress THIS!" , followed by a rather good breakdown.

Yeah they're very popular amongst fat "scene" girls who don't actually listen to music and just wear the shirts because the band members are soooooo hot. Or they aer where I live, at least. Surprisingly good music though.

Lamb of God (blegh) and The Acacia Strain (gently caress yes) are playing tomorrow in NYC and it was already sold out by the time I even heard about it. I know a guy who does booking and promoting and there's a chance he might be able to get me in. Got my fingers crossed bros!

haha yeah that usually always happens with me and my bros when we talk about shows, I'm trying to organize a NE Metalfest thing with some bros and I have to take initiative to rally everyone up cause they're all lazy dicks
