Nah I was saying I checked a while ago because I had heard it was good. And it wasn't on there. Now it is.

And since my last post I ended up watching all 10 seasons episodes.

All of the older Dr. Who stuff is only going to be available on Netflix through Jan 31st. I had been planning on going through those after going through the current episodes. :(

Edit: Looks like that includes Torchwood as well.

I'm probably late to the party, but Peep Show is absolutely loving hilarious. The first season is just ok, but it's one of my favorite shows after that.

Anything similar? I guess I should check out Spaced?

That Mitchell and Webb Look is pretty awesome. It's the guys who play Mark and Jez on Peep Show, and it's a sketch comedy show sort of like In Living Color.

And yes, Spaced is excellent, as is The IT Crowd.

edit: Beaten!

it looks like nearly everything the BBC has on instant view is expiring on the 31st. Hopefully they have a new deal beginning Feb 1.

I seem to recall seeing the BBC stuff "expiring" a couple of times in 2011 but never being taken down, so I'm guessing it's a case of the BBC deal being pretty short term.

edit: I ran across some old blogs from late 2010 saying that the BBC stuff was expiring effective January 1, 2011, so it looks like there's a good chance the BBC content won't disappear.

Yeah I wanted to like this (The Last Circus) movie but it was really terrible. The third act was really dull and seemed to go on forever, too.

I thought that the whole joke was that Leroy Jenkins was an outdated internet video. That was the whole reason they brought those memes up.

One of the best episodes of the series. Especially for the Catherine Zeta Jones song.

Just wanted to recommend a few movies that I saw recently on Instant:

Camp Victory, Afghanistan: This documentary takes a look at the Afghan National Army and their relationship with the American soldiers trying to train the army. This was particularly interesting to me because of the amount of time focused on what the Afghan generals had to say regarding their army and what they were trying to accomplish. A little slow, but I actually appreciated that considering most war documentaries simply try to focus on the violence.

Trust: Pretty touching drama starring Clive Owen, which revolves around the rape of his teenage daughter by some stranger from the internet. This movie disturbed me pretty deeply.

In the Loop: Pretty funny comedy that has been brought up several times before, but I just noticed it on instant.

Rescue Me: This show is hilarious, and at times dramatic also. I love Dennis Leary, so maybe this show endears itself to me more just by his mere presence, but I would encourage anyone to watch this show.

I know this was like 8 pages back but Lexx is worth giving a shot past the first season. It's not your normal sci-fi, but having almost finished all the way through the fourth season, it's definitely one of my all time favorites. It's disjointed because the first season was a mini-series, then it got picked up as a normal series. It's worth mentioning it's a Canadian show, and fairly low budget, which explains why at one point the U.S. President is helping the crew of the Lexx gun down FBI agents en masse. If you like Sci-fi mixed with alot of cheese and a heavy dose of sexual innuendo, it's worth checking out.

Oh nevermind, after further research, it's Canadian and German. That explains things quite a bit.

Just watched Tucker and Dale vs Evil the other day at the recommendation of a friend. It's an entertaining parody of the standard "college kids camping in the woods" slasher. It's got Alan Tudyk (Serenity/Firefly) and Katrina Bowden (30 Rock). Also a guy who kind of looks like a fatter Jack Black. I guess he was in Zach and Miri Make a Porno or something.

One of my friends just turned me onto Twin Peaks. I have never seen it before but after two episodes I'm hooked. It was made in 1990 so some of the acting is a bit... 80's/90's. Everything about the show is really amazing though.

Yeah, I tried to watch one of those Gamera episodes and it was just painful. Nothing could have saved that film.

And Twin Peaks is amazing. Until a couple episodes into Season 2. It's a shame the network made Lynch reveal the killer, even if there was interesting mythology stuff after that. Though I wouldn't know that personally, since I lost interest at that point - just like most people watching at the time.

Gonna add my vote for WORKAHOLICS.

But I'm mainly here to say that people should watch HARRY BROWN with Michael Caine. It's about Michael Caine just completely loving up junkies. It's basically what I wished Gran Torino had been. Michael Cane kills it, it's gritty as hell, and God-drat does he ever gently caress up some junkies.

Edit: Like, I'm upset right now, because the movie just ended, and I'm not gonna be able to find something better; and what am I gonna do with the rest of my day now?

This was pretty good. It occupies a weird middle ground between Gran Torino and Taken.

Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations is a great show where the cynical Bourdain, a professional chef and author, traipses around the world sampling local cuisine drinking heavily, smoking cartons of cigarettes, and making fun of Rachel Ray. It's a really fun show.

Timecrimes is back up. It was available on instant watch a while ago, but dropped off for a while. I watched it over the weekend and really enjoyed it. It's a movie about how things can go poorly if you interact with yourself after going back in time. It's also a satisfying watch on the very first viewing. While I really liked Primer, I only really comprehended it completely after a second viewing.
