I haven't listened to the Howard Stern show in months and months, but on my walk to work I started singing "I wanna shoot my goo on Robins big black boobs, and then lick her vagina" out of nowhere and couldn't stop singing it.

Richard :allears:

How's he been? Has he stayed in shape? Is Christy preggers yet?

The only people I miss after ditching the Stern show and becoming a fulltime N&A listener are Richard and Fred. Everyone else can go get hosed. In a perfect world they'd abandon ship and join N&A...

I recently discovered through the Adam Carolla podcasts that sound drops are loving atrociously annoying and distracting when regular radio fucks do them, furthering my appreciation of Fred. What that man does is an artform.

I kinda wish they'd isolate the beginning of that crazy Red Sox manager going "Hooohhh, I was cooking back in 1980..." (from the I invented the wrap story) because I lose it every single time I hear that.

Because most of the times the funny guy isn't technical enough to use them and the technical guy that can use them is never funny. Everyone else using soundboards would basically rely on Scott the Engineer to play drops for them.

Yeah, it really hurts his podcast for me that so much stupid unecessary radio poo poo carried over, like those ridiculous voice over intros. Other completely unregulated, uncensored radio shows and podcasts have utterly spoiled me and I enjoy the hell out of a 2 hour discussion that just flows naturally from topic to topic like an actual conversation between human beings. None of the radio bullshit of hosts being forced to move topic to topic to hit all the demographics by higher ups, etc.

I dunno what it is about the woman on Carolla's podcast but for some reason I can't laugh at her. The things she says are pretty clever, witty, funny, etc but they always just fall flat. Dunno if it's her timing or delivery or what.

I think she lacks confidence. If you watch her Vlog it really shows. She's insanely smart and clever, but it just doesn't work. She reminds me of my girlfriend. Really nerdy and dorky. I think that's why I like her so much. :D

Is it me, or are these... not that good? The first two have the trademark overexposure, apparently for artistic purposes, and the third seems blurry. That aside, the poses are kind of stupid.

I'm sure next week we'll be hearing endless praise about how fantastic they are, but I don't see it.

Gee, no kidding!

He knows absolutely nothing about lighting. Or exposure. At this point it's a step up because he's not haphazardly cloning bits of the background into the picture.

Why does he need this validation for his photography, again? He's 'The King of All Media.' Why not just let us all be jealous of his fantastic life and stop trying to grab more bullshit compliments?

Not being good at photography doesn't mean he can't share them. It's really one of the better ways to improve. What is a problem is the sycophants who all tell him how great he is and his inability to accept criticism.

If he would simple post them with a more humble attitude I don't think there would be an issue.

While I agree with you, I think Carolla's format works just due to sheer volume produced. Free flowing would be amazing, but he's a middle aged guy who's stuck in his ways and craps out 9 hours of new content a week. He is what he is.

I listen to the show sporadically, and I'm really struck by how Howard is like two different people doing interviews. He's the world's greatest interviewer when the guest is someone whose career spanned the 70's-90's or was coming up during that time. You can tell that this is his wheelhouse of popular culture, Howard is interested, he knows the guest and their career better, he knows all the cultural touchstones and references from the guests career, he asks better questions, is more empathetic etc. An example is the recent interview with Little Stevie. Since Howard was coming up as a DJ when what is now "Classic Rock" was "rock", he was really good with all the minutiae of Stevie's earlier career with Springsteen.

But if the guest is someone whose career was mainly after 2000, it's a completely different story. It's as if he stopped listening to new music (granted it's mostly been crap) and absorbing much in the way of new cultural influences since then. He knows less about the guest's career and just frankly seems less interested, less into it. Even a guest from his "wheelhouse" like Bill Murray, who is a great interview and has had a really solid late career acting in well regarded "serious" films by people like Wes Anderson and Jim Jarmusch, Howard can only bring up Ghostbusters. Seriously?

I'm coming to this a little late, but I thought it was a great interview, one of the best in the while. Choe was really annoying to listen to at first, but drat, he is one fascinating crazy m'fer. Trantic masturbation in Japanese jails, playing percussion for Die Antwoort, hanging out in the Congo, earning a million dollars at age 30 by gambling in Vegas ... he's in the running to be the real Most Interesting Man In The World. It's taxing listening to him trying to finish a thought without getting distracted, but I would still love to hear the other 5,000 crazy stories he probably has about his life.

There's definitely something wrong with him mentally, though. At first I thought he was on coke, but then he said he doesn't drink or do drugs, and said several things that are indicative of Manic-Depressive Disorder or Bipolar of whatever they call it these days.
