As a Gucci fan who's jams are Free Gucci 2:The Brrrtish Edition, Writings on the Wall and Trap House- I like Trap Back. Can't wait to see what all these videos Gucci's promised, I can guess there's going to be cars, chains and waka though. Does anyone have a link for that video for a song that Gucci features on early in his career? I think the song is by a group of guys and Gucci fts by himself, they're in a grassy area, there might've been a camper van there. I've youtubed and googled for what seems like half an hour trying to find something earlier than even 2009.

I like a lot of the stuff he did when he was jacking beats before This Ain't No Mixtape came out (so 07-08ish). I think he did some kind of compilation of the best tracks from those tapes but I don't remember what it was called. I do remember that his last tape before the album was Fin... and was pretty good.

Yeah, my bad. I just wanted to speak to what's happening a bit more. After all, anyone familiar with OF knows that Free Earl has been a big thing. To make up for it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MgxjZ-cRU8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyzcW8ZVnsc I heard Riding Dirty way before Too Hard to Swallow. I love the original but the sequel is one of my favorite tracks of all time. RIP Pimp C

I'd be most remiss if I didn't point that the OG version of Cocaine in the Back of the Ride from The Southern Way is far superior https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F2IkoGa6y-4 but yeah I think most UGK heads agree that Super Tight... was when they really started to hit their stride https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzeLbhd3814

I agree with all this but I thought Covert Coup was excellent, definitely recommend that one. I also enjoyed the "How Fly" mixtape he did with Wiz Khalifa but that sorta depends on how you feel bout Wiz. edit: I really loved Alchemist's production on CC so I'm stoked to be hearing they're planning a sequel. Also apparently he's doing an album produced entirely by Chuck Inglish which sounds pretty rad too. Bulging Nipples fucked around with this message at 08:07 on Feb 9, 2012 |

People leaving out some of my favs, namely- Verde Terrace and Independence Day. I also really like Super Techmo Bowl but that may not be for everyone. Really the only answer is that Curren$y has released so much free poo poo that you might as well skim through as much as you can until you find a tape you particularly like.

I also liked Verde Terrace but I agree, he's put out a lot of good material. I'm surprised he's not caught on more with the Wiz crowd though, he's pretty much the same as him only better at actually rapping.

farmtrill posted:action bronson + riff raff? harry fraud beats Not gonna lie, that's the last nail in the coffin containing any interest I had in Bronson. Not sure if he would've ever gotten past "white dude who raps about food and sounds like Ghostface" thing anyway since that's been about 95% of his appeal it seems. Also really kinda disappointed he's spending time with garbage dudes instead of trying to put on some of the other outdoorsmen. I thought his best stuff was actually his features on Meyhem Lauren's tapes, but w/e.

He's got a tape or album coming out with Mr. Muthafuckin' Exquire and the Alchemist, so I'm waiting on that to see if I'll enjoy more than a guest verse from him. His videos always make me want to smoke one those fat joints though.

The biggest problem I have with white rappers across the board is that they don't have any self-restraint. Like, I could dig Riff-Raff or a lot of those dudes if they put a little more effort into their music. I fault them for the same stuff I fault a lot of small time, barely known artists. But people take it as "well you wouldn't like his stuff anyways" and I think the "I don't give gently caress" attitude is a turn-off.
