Germany play in white and green because these are the colours of the Deutscher Fußball-Bund, our equivalent of the English FA.
Their logo is green and white to symbolise the colours of a football pitch.

A lot of jerseys have had imprinted designs, there were a few St Pauli kits posted here last year with a design too.
