It's a nice shirt, but what's the story behind the green?

GravityDaemon posted:It's a nice shirt, but what's the story behind the green? Germany play in white and green because these are the colours of the Deutscher Fußball-Bund, our equivalent of the English FA. Their logo is green and white to symbolise the colours of a football pitch.

Also the shield is a circle because that is the shape of a football

Also the kit is a football kit to symbolize the sport (football) that the team will play

The shirt has two sleeves because that's the number of arms the players have

My bad, I didn't mean the complete design, rather the back of the uniforms with the imprinted design.

Right, I guess the olympic torches, national symbols and (in the USA's case anyway) tribal-like design struck me as similar. Yeah, those St. Pauli kits were boss last year.

I'm pretty sure it's still just a fan shirt, and not what the team will be playing in. http://www.footballshirtculture.com/11/12-kits/team-gb-adidas-london-2012-commemorative-shirt.html
